Up for auction is a Mint 1968 SS396 Chevelle with Protecto Plate. All body panels are original with no rust or dents. Frame and floors are original and rust free. All suspension components front to rear are new. All body trim is original and is in good shape. The trim does show some normal wear and scratches. The front and rear bumpers are new. The vinyl top is original and in good shape with no rips or tears. It is faded a little. I cannot find any evidence of rust under the vinyl top. The glass is in good shape. The rear glass has some scratches. The body on this car is in very good shape. The car has had one repaint from the original owner. It is not a show paint but is ok for a driver. The drivetrain on this car is excellent.The 396 325 engine is freshly rebuilt to original specs with approximately 700 miles. The transmission is a M20 wide ratio and shifts like a dream with no noise or vibration. The shifter was upgraded to a hurst competition plus.The rearend seems to be original 355. It does have power steering. Standard brakes. The interior is original with some fading but looks great for its age. No rips or tears. Dash is in very good condition. This car can be driven anywhere.
