This listing is for our 1970 Dodge D100 Pick up. We got this truck for my son to fix up and drive to work. The prior owner said it had a lot of work done to it, but it stopped running and he didn't have the money to have it repaired. He is not a mechanic, but he tried to fix it himself anyway. He said he couldn't find the problem and gave up. Since we had no way of knowing what what was wrong with the truck or what work had actually been done to it, we assumed the worse. But we took a big chance and got it anyway. After we towed it home and checked it out, we found that the carburetor had been taken apart and was missing a lot of parts. We also found the distributor was shorted out. We repaired the carburetor and the distributor. To our surprise the truck started right up and ran very well. It ran good and shifted through all the gears better than we ever expected. Maybe the guy we got it from was telling the truth about the engine and transmission? The truck is not beautiful but it does run good. We loaned our son the money to buy this truck. After we got it running. he used it for three months and then changed jobs! So now he has no use for the truck! We needs to sell this truck to so he can repay the money he borrowed. I think it will make someone a good truck to drive or maybe make a hot rod out of it! Here is what I know about the truck. It's a 1970 Dodge D100 Sweptline long bed. It has a 318 V8 engine, a 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission and a 8 3/4 rear end. The truck has high performance long tube headers, aluminum valve/rocker covers, performance coil and a transmission oil cooler. The engine runs good and the transmission shifts very good. The previous owner claimed they were both rebuilt, but we have no way to verify that, so just assume that they were not! If in fact they were rebuilt, then just consider that a bonus! The truck has a custom dash with all new gauges. There are no broken windows, the bed is not rusty, the floors and the bottom edges of the doors have a little rust. We have the clear CA title, it is not salvage, the truck is registered till 2011. We are selling this truck as-is with NO RESERVE! The high bidder gets it! Email me if you have questions.
