Vehicle Detail
This is a nice clean complete 1971 Triumph 650 Tiger TR6R, single carb, low pipes. At some point this bike gained a twin carb head and an additional carb, bringing it to Bonneville T120 spec. It has been in storage for some time hence the low miles, just over 13K. It is not running but turns over with good compression. The points have been removed from the timing cover but come with the bike. As you can see from the pics, the paint is faded and chipped in places. The seat is in good shape but needs a piece of edge trim. The cover looks original and has no tears or damage. The fork seals leak a little but forks work well, as do both brakes and clutch. Throttle snaps back so the carbs are not stuck; it comes with center and side stands, tires hold air but are dry rotted. The tires look to be only the second set the bike has had. The mufflers are obviously not stock but are period, and actually contain baffles! The wheel rims are in great condition with hardly any rust if any. Speedo and tach look to be good shape too. The bike comes with the ignition parts, turnsignals and air cleaner elements. Gas tank has a small ding on the top left side where the forks have hit it. It is a 3.5 gallon tank and is clean and sealed inside. I thought I would keep this bike, install high pipes and paint it flat green to create an older interpretation of the Hinkley Triumph "Steve McQueen" scrambler that is so popular right now but I have too many other projects. This is a nice clean and pretty original example of the early oil-in-frame bikes. Comes with a clear KS title in my name. Shipping is up to the buyer to sort out. There are many excellent bike shippers out there, Keyboard motorcyle shippers come to mind. A search on the internet will find them. My zip here is KS 67213, I can have the bike at my place of work for a commercial daytime, 9-5 pickup and can assist with loading.
