All car, that can kick ... what was that you said Obama? It seems that previous years models of this car have been called Imperial, or maybe even Imperial Le Barron. As all car sales say, this car was previously driven by a little (maybe) old lady. I never asked if she ever actually lived in Pasadena, but I think she did live near there long ago. I know she did smoke, emptied ashtray. She had passed away about ten years ago. After her passing, it just sat in the garage. (See photo) I had purchased it, and begun to clean it up. It easily passed smog on the first try, and I paid dearly for the registration ($522). As far as running: It was driven (100 miles each way) to San Francisco airport shortly after getting it running. It was running fine for about a couple of months, until I filled the tank (with premium, always premium) to go on another out-of-town trip to Calaveras County. I then drove 1.7 miles to one of the busiest intersections in Sacramento (Watt & Fair Oaks), and while crossing the intersection; the car went dead, and I then coasted across the rest of the intersection. It has been at the shop since. The mechanic (who I owe money to already) has not seemed to me very helpful. The mechanic said that he thinks it is a carburetor problem, but has not followed-up with a price quote to fix it... yet. Conversely, I have sprayed gas into the carburetor, and it still does not fire. Hoping it was something to do with the distributor cap, and rotor, I replaced them. No improvement. (the pictures of the engine show the distributor cap as blue, it is now black. The old one is in the trunk.) I guess, There is always the possibility that the problem is the dreaded timing belt. At this point, I will not rule anything out. As an over-paid California State Employee, I cannot afford to have all the stops pulled to have the car repaired. Therefore, I am selling it to someone who will appreciate it, as I do. As well as be able to have it fixed, which I do not. This car will be perfect for someone like Jay Leno who would really enjoy (and afford to fix-up) this car.;-) I was just about to buff out the paint job, and really make it shine. It does have minor dings, except for a noticeable (at least to me) gouge in the left side (as pictured.) The Landau roof is in very good condition. To be brutally honest, the known problems are: The passenger windshield wiper is not moving. One day we had a real heavy rain in Sacramento, and the wipers were going furiously. Suddenly the right wiper stopped. Later, I examined the mechanism, and the bar connecting the two wipers had disconnected. It should be a "simple" matter of reconnecting the bar. It was the last rain of the season, and I did not have the patience to muck with it until it was really necessary. The work area is not the most accommodating for my big hands. ;-) I did not have the A/C recharged yet, (after 10 years it obviously did not have Freon) so I do not know as to the exact capabilities of the A/C system. The Cruise Control did not work, and being I was not planning to make regular long-distance trips, it was not high on my list of things to look into. Looking at the pictures under the engine, one can see that many of the parts were "recently" installed. Indicating it was well cared for. There is even a hijacker sticker inside the trunk (see photo) indicating that just maybe she was either the "Little Old Lady from Pasadena," or at least had the suspension replaced. Which is also evident by the way the car has a very good stance. No leaning, or tilting. It rides nice, and level. Although there is a bit of a vibration due to three of the tires were flat for God knows how many of the ten years; and one, or more, are slightly out of round. It is not noticeable until one reaches speeds above 50 miles per hour. I had planned to wait until rainy season to replace the F series tires. The headliner, needs to be relined. The stereo was reportedly replaced shortly before the previous owners passing. I have not figured how to reset the clock. Which usually comes naturally to me. The dash already has a built-in clock. The steering wheel tilts, and the horn works. It takes some getting used to, to dim the headlights with the left foot once again. There seems to be a build-up of oil on the engine, which might indicate a leak. There are so many things mounted to the engine, I cannot do a proper close-up examination. This car is being sold as-is, where is. Either be prepared to have the current mechanic, fix it; or be prepared to have it towed to your garage/mechanic. However; if you would be so kind, and inform me what the problem happened to be, I would appreciate it. Just to be clear, this car has no warranties; expressed, or implied. No returns, unless one does not wish a refund. (yeah, right) Any questions, please contact me through the eBay message system. I receive too many emails at home, I might not realize a question was received. RunRoyRun.org On Jul-11-10 at 00:41:18 PDT, seller added the following information: I almost forgot that the drivers seat does not stay up. I was using a plastic storage container as a temporary prop to keep it from reclining, and have people look at me funny while I drove. As promised, here are more pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/52021520@N03/ Hopefully they are to your liking, and interested parties can view them. The car does need to be detailed, otherwise it is in very nice condition. By the way, the steering wheel lock does not come with the car.
