Up for your bidding pleasure we have another vehicle coming from our Los Angeles Warehouse: an extremely nice Jaguar X-type AWD. This 2004 X-Type is loaded with all the power amenities including: Power seat, power windows, mirrors, sunroof/moonroof, self dimming rear view mirror, AM/FM/CD player. The exterior is in very nice shape, the paint is still very shiny and shows minimal wear and scratches. No dents or dings were detected. The leather interior is in mint shape, with the driver seat showing normal wear for a 6 year old car. There are no rips or tears in the leather on any of the seating areas, there are no odors or stains on the leather or carpeting. Definitely a non-smoker car. All the vehicles' windows are tinted and function as should (electrically go up and down). The Engine starts right up and runs, the transmission shifts very smooth with no jerking or slipping. All the gears shift as they should. All the vital fluids are there and look very good. There are no oil leaks under the car. There is no visible body rust. The climate control works beautifully, the AC is very cold. The radio is fully functional and so is the CD player. All the interior and exterior lights are fully functional. The Sunroof opens and closes and the moonroof option is working. The brakes look to have about 60 - 70% left on them, the rotors are not causing any shudder or steering vibration when braking. The tires look to be brand new in the front, and about 60-70% in the back. Here are the issues that I detected and you need to be aware of: The Check Engine Light is ON. It was off when I started test driving the car (a week ago) and came on a day later. It has since turned off and returned again. The idle feels rough when at a stop and in gear (D). The engine does not stall, but the idle is rough when it drops down to about 500RPM. The idle smooths out when in park or neutral. The car runs great on freeways and on streets, no hesitation/misfire or issues. It has great pickup and runs as it should. I have put roughly 300 miles on the car up to this point with no issues. There is no overheating, no stalls or other issues. All the Gauges are fully functional. The rough idle can only be detected when stopped and in gear. I imagine the CEL light has something to do with that. The car has been in our storage facility for about one year, during that time it was started maybe twice? Maybe the fuel or fuel filter clogged up? The next issue found is that the rubber molding around the windshield is starting to crack up...This molding is more of a cosmetic piece and is found on the left and the right side of the windshield. The cracking is weather related (sun deterioration - see picture). The rear suspension makes a thud on certain bumps...Not on speed bumps but if there is a pothole, it feels like the rear is hitting the ground (Thud). The front suspension is responsive and seems to be in good condition. Lastly, the remote (FOB) seems to have a delay when opening the doors. When depressing the lock button, it locks it instantly. However, you have to hold the unlock button down for about 1 or 2 seconds to unlock. I don't know if that is the way it's meant to work, or it may need a new battery. I have tested this car, like any other car that we end up selling, for the past week. I have managed to log about 300 miles on it and it drives great. I will continue driving it, and will report any issues. RFE is not a dealership, bodyshop, wholesaler etc...We are a storage and shipping facility.
