Up for auction today is my 1999 Audi A4 Quattro Sedan. I originally purchased it from my brother (in the car business) who bought this car at an auction and had it repaired professionally and so it has a salvage title. The windshield was replaced and also the side window. I drove the car for over 60,000 miles and it hasn’t given me any problems during that time. Unfortunately, in my travels around Long Island, the car got hit from behind and sustained some minor damage. My mechanic told me it was cosmetic. On the Internet I found bumpers for under $400. The trunk sustained some minor damage that is barely visible, and the paint has some minor nicks and chips. In addition, the hood has one bigger paint chip and then small other minor scratches. The exhaust is loud, and I put a metal strap over a hole near the muffler exhaust. I moved from NY to AZ two years ago and left the car with my parents in Long Island. It has been sitting in the garage all that time, and now it starts and runs pretty rough. The check engine light is on and I hooked up a scanner which shows a P1545 error code, after looking at websites, this looks like a problem with the throttle body and MAF sensor. I have read that you need to clean both and I also read that this occurs after the battery has died and/or been replaced which is the case with my car. Also, people have written that Audi has specific proprietary software to reset the computers after you put in batteries or recalibrate the throttle body and sensor. I am not a mechanic, and that's about as far as I will go with it, so I have decided to sell it as-is. If you, or someone you know is good with cars, here is an opportunity to grab an Audi Quattro for thousands less than you would anywhere else.
