Vehicle Detail
1971 Honda CB500 four cylinder in nice original condition. Bike is titled as a 1972 but the vin number on the frame and motor show it to be a 1971 KO. Bike is brown metallic and black, paint still has a nice shine to it, not perfect but very nice. Tank has 2 smaller dents, the dent on the right side of the tank looks alot worse in the picture than it really is, the shadow makes it look biggier than it actually is, the inside looks brand new with no rust at all. one side cover is perfect and the other is very nice missing one tab and has a tiny split, not noticeable when mounted. Seat is perfect and original. Bike shows 4995 miles, the speedo and trip odometer are working, when the odometer stopped I reset the trip and it shows about 17 miles, so the bike has about 5012 on it, tach needs a cable or oiled, everything else works on this bike, all lights function, horn beeps, brake light works, brakes stop the bike, tires are older but have good tread and hold air. A wider rear wheel was laced to accomadate this bike giving it a much nicer ride. Chrome is nice all over and has been cleaning up nicely, not perfect but what do you expect for a bike that is 39 years old. Pipes are excellent and original, one pipe has a little rust that is showing thru on the underside, I didn't notice any dents in the pipes, baffles are present. Bike starts and runs fine, I would still recommend a tune up and a going over. I have riden it around town and haven't had any problems, haven't noticed any leaks either. The front fender is very straight but a large piece of chrome peeled off. Bike still has the original and complete tool kit under the seat. Bike had been titled with it's 2nd owner since 1975 and has always been stored inside, which it shows. The black paint on the top of the triple tree is peeling. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, I would rather you ask than wait till your high bidder and stop buy and try to talk the price down, so if you want to see it or have questions please ask. I will assist with any shipping, I am located about 2 hours or so east of the AMA mid ohio vintage motorcycle days. I plan on being there one of the days so delivery to there is an option, but I'm not bringiing it just for you to look at. I can be contacted via my cell as well. 724-971-0200.
