Vehicle Detail
What we have here is the proverbial NEAR RUST FREE car that was in a barn for 20 plus years. I recently bought this with the mindset that I would attempt a restoration(something I've always wanted to do) but realize that it simply doesnt fit into my lifeor my available space. So.... Now it's on ebay and I'm going to try and save up and buy one already restored. What attracted me to this car was several things: ***283 V8 w/powerglide*** A) RUNS AND DRIVES. It starts immediately with a tap of the key and shifts with no problems. No noises or any indication of ANY PROBLEMS. In fact, I drove this thing 30 miles home with my wife behind me. One thing that did stand out though was the tires are in obvious need of replacement. I think they were on the car the entire time it sat in the barn--but they hold air just fine. I believe this car needs NOTHING MECHANICALLY. The guy I bought it from had just put in a brand new gas tank, fuel sender, and carb. It runs and idles, holds oil pressure, and stays very cool when sitting. 100 PERCENT TURN-KEY. B) THIS CAR IS AMAZINGLY RUST FREE. After looking over the car over and over the only rust-through I see is extremely small patches on both front fender bottoms between wheel and door. A simple fix. I have pulled the carpet back in the footwells and they are solid. I have included pics of the trunk-- It looks rusted, but I assure you it is only a surface patina on not at all rust damaged. The floors and truck of this car ARE ROCK SOLID. ---Also, I know the roof looks rusty, but I assure you that is a mixture of the primer coming through and a bit of a rust patina. NO ROT. C) EVERYTHING IS THERE. There is nothing missing from this car. You may have to recover the rear seat. Replace carpeting, It will need the driver's door panel replaced(bottom part)....but otherwise EVERYTHING IS THERE. The steering wheel is in incredible shape, all interior items are in great shape. All molding are there..... Car is complete. D) Finally, the body on this car is in excellent shape there are a few bumps and bruises here and there, but nothing intimidating in the least. The biggest boo-boo on the whole car is a dent in the driver's door, and I assure you it is VERY MINOR. As far as selling the car, I am wide open to ending the auction early--FOR A REASONABLE OFFER. I am willing to ship ANYWHERE at buyer's expense once I have funds. Please ask all questions UP FRONT. I am one of the most honest people you will ever meet so please know that my word is my soul, and I'm not going to blemish it for a car sale. thanks for the interest, Randall
