Vehicle Detail
Through a series of events, I became the owner of the above vehicle. It needs a little work, but I have too many cars in various stages of restoration to take on another project car. I bought the car online as a 1st car for my daughter, but it was completely misrepresented by an unscrupulous seller and I really wanted something in a little better shape for my daughter to drive right now. I will do my best to NOT do the same here for any perspective buyers. But please keep in mind this car is being sold “AS IS”. The upside – the car has a fairly straight body, glass is all in good shape, all mechanicals seem to work, windows, A/C, etc. Interior cleaned up really nice and is in very good condition. Dash has no cracks and all door panels are in great condition. Seats are comfortable and supportive. Suspension and ride is very nice and it feels very comfortable and solid on the road. Tires are in good shape as well as the wheels. I drove this car a bit and I think the 2.6 engine is the best match for this body style as it is more responsive. It is also easy to work on being a straight six. Down-side - Engine runs, but needs a valve job (burns some oil) and it has a vacuum leak somewhere. I put new plugs in it, but it needs a good tune-up as it runs a bit rough. All air conditioning parts appear to be working but it needs to be re-charged. Speedometer/odometer is not working. Stereo needs the code to get working. If you give the VIN to your local dealer they may be able to give you a code. Car has some dings and scratches and some paint dullness in areas, and the paint on the hood is cracking. Personally I would need to paint this car, but it seems pretty straight and should paint very nicely as it is a very classy color combination. I’m not a mechanic, but I had my own MBZ mechanic look at it( I own 3 others), and the above are his recommendations if I were to keep it. When fixed up I think this would be a nice car, but as I said I don’t have the time or inclination right now. I am selling the car as a project car and all sales are final. I have tried to be as truthful and up-front as I can, and I welcome any questions. You are also welcome to come by and look at it. I am selling it with no reserve and highest bidder gets it. I am also listing the car locally, so I reserve the right to end auction early if I get an offer. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. I will assist with the shipping and can provide the name of one that is very reasonable. Payment by PayPal only accepted and must be paid with 3 days of auction. Thank you and happy bidding!
