Vehicle Detail
1967 Chevrolet C50 Grain Truck. This truck has a 6cyl 292 gas engine. With a Muncie 4 spd with PTO. 2spd rear axil. 23,000 lbs. Rear Spring with factory auxiliary springs. Front tow hooks, and Heavy Duty frame. The truck was purchase new by a farmer in Franklin Ky. He was the only owner up untill last fall when I purchased it from him. The truck only has 58,000 actual miles. He used it twice a year for hauling corn and beans. It was always stored in a barn. When I first saw the truck it looked like it had came out of a time capsule. This truck is all orginal. All of the factory stickers are in the cab. All buttons, knobs, and factory radio are in place. All glass is good, door seals are good. I have not came across a truck this year and in this condition in 25 years. I have the orginal owners manual, and a protection plan booklet with "Protect-o-plate still intact. Also included is a service manual and a overhaul manual that also look new. I would say this truck is 99% rust free. The rocker panels are perfect, the bottom of the doors look new. Solid is all I can say, I welcome you to come and lay down underneath the truck and try to find some rust on the body. The only spot of rust on the outside is on the RH fender about the size of a silver dollar, thats it. Now that being said, I want to explain what I consider rust. A hole in through the metal is rust. You will see in the pictures some surface rust on the top and inside of the cab, on the mirrors, and different places, but thats all it is surface rust. Before he sold it, he had the breaks repaired at a Chevrolet dealer, cost him $572. They work great. The engine runs great, it is a bullet proof 292 6 cyl. If you are familiar with these engine you know what I mean when I say bullet proof. The Granny 4 speed does the job, but does pop out of low about the time you have enough RPMs to shift. It never bothered me, but you may want to get the low gear synchronizer adjusted. It has a PTO driven hydraulic pump for the dump bed. It is a single cylinder dump, which I like better than the twin cylinder because on the twin its hard to get both cylinders raising at the same rate. This one works great, I have hauled dirt, gravel, and some wood and the dump worked perfectly. The tires are about 50% and did good under a load. All lights work including cab lights. Wiper, horn, signals, heater fan all work. There is one slide lever on the heater control that is broke. I just slide it over with my pocket knife. it has a saddle tank that holds 30 gallon or more, also has the orginal tank behind the seat that I use. The bed measures 14ft x 7ft 8in. The sides are 52 inchs tall. The tail gate has 3 small chutes that open to dump grain. The bed and sides are wood. Looks like the cracks were caulked at one time so the grain wouldn't spill out. I fell in love with it because of how orginal it was, but have only used it 3 times I cant justify keeping it. If I had the money I would restore it and keep it for parades and hay rides, its just that nice. I have looked around on the internet and seen where guys have put dually pickup truck beds on these trucks and made them look sharp. I also saw where a guy made a car hauler out of one to haul around his race car. Or you can put it back to work as a grain truck, log truck, gravel truck, dirt hauler, mulch hauler, anything you put in her, she can haul it, and dump it. I had my boy who is 14 clean it up for me. He washed it and waxed it and used a bottle of armor all on the tires and wheels. He has got her looking sharp. I have not tried to hide anything, what you see is what you get. The only touch up I have found on the truck is on the doors, where the farmer covered up his name before he sold it. The truck is not new, but it is orginal. Please check my feedback. If you are close please come by and check the truck out. I am 11 miles from I-65 in Franklin Ky Exit 6 easy to find. You can email me anytime, and call me between 7:00am and 4:00pm (270)776-6408 I will be happy to answer any questions. I have placed a Buy it Now price, just because when I sell something everyone asks me what my buy it now price is. My reserve price is alot lower the the buy it now price, so dont let it scare you off. I am hoping there is a guy out there, with alot of money, whos Grand Daddy bought a truck just like this new, and it was what he learned to drive in. Doesnt hurt to dream. Thanks for looking. The exhaust pipe and muffler are both good just need to put the gasket in.
