After having bought over 30 cars, sight unseen, on Ebay, here is the first disaster that I've bought. I bought this one 2 weeks ago from another Ebayer. She was completely and totally dishonest about the condition of the car. Here is the item number; 320533333948. The true story on the car. The body, the interior, the frame are in great shape. It looks great in a driveway. The motor, a 3.6 Liter, 6 cyl is probably the original motor. The mileage I cannot say factually but the odometer reads 180K plus. It was sold to me as a replacement motor with only 42K miles. It is NOT! My mechanics tell me that it has over 100K on it. The transmission has no second gear. The motor will not hold timing. The alternator will not keep a charge. The fuel regulator, the fuel pump, the injectors, the oil pump are all working. It has no fan shroud. The computer case is cracked and may or may not be working properly. The wiring harness in the dashboard is full of splices. I think that we just replaced the motor for the convertible top and all the windows are working. I"m told that the A/C is cold. I'm told that there is mold under the carpets and under the seats. The ragtop is brand new. Apparently the rugs got wet when the top was being changed. There is no evidence that the car has been flooded. In closing, we have had this car about 12 days now. On Jun-12-10 at 13:21:19 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE on diagnosis: I'm told that this car isn't in as poor shape as I thought. It DOES RUN AND IT IS NOT SMOKING!! It just doesn't run very well because the timing is poor because of the computer and the wiring has so many splices. Again 17 days after receiving it, I still haven't seen the car. I'm going by what my mechanic tells me. Also, the young lady who sold the car to me swears that she had no knowledge of the maladies of the car and that she paid her previous mechanic to install a workable engine. HE apparently did NOT and did more harm than good. She is seeking legal redress from him. I retract my statements about her.
