Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a nice 1937 Ford DeLuxe Pickup Custom HotRod. This is an all steel truck with no fiberglass parts. To the best of my knowledge, all of the body parts are original to the truck except for the custom made tailgate and the grill shell. It sits on the original frame with a custom cross member for the newer engine and transmission. Included with the truck are the original hood side panels. They are in great condition and are painted to match. My wife bought the truck as a play project for herself a couple of years ago. We’ve done a lot to the hotrod, but it could still use some work to take it in the direction of your own personal style. The engine runs well but is running rich as we have not rejetted the new carb for this altitude (4500ft). The trans tends to shift slow going from first to second when its cold with no signs of slippage. It has all new wiring from front to rear and all lights, switches, wipers, horn, and aftermarket gauges work as they should. The paint is good at 10ft. The guy that painted it before we got it left a couple of sags and runs. It has never been cut and buffed, so it may clean up. It has a good overall gloss. We were planning to paint a different color. There are also two small cracks in the bodywork. One is at the rear of the driver's side window track where the previous owner popped the lead filler out of the weld. The second is on the passenger's side rear fender where the fender was flexed and the thin layer of filler cracked about 2" long. It drives well with no major wandering and the brakes do their job well. Since we have not driven it for any distance other than to test changed and new parts, I would recommend more shakedown runs before taking it any long distances. It is currently licensed in Oregon with an original 1937 Oregon plate. It has a clear Oregon title using the original VIN. The only reason we are selling is that we are relocating to the east coast and can’t take it with us. Here are some of the features and details: 1937 CUSTOMIZED FORD DeLuxe PICKUP BODY: All steel body and fenders. THIS VEHICLE IS FOR SALE LOCALLY TOO, SO I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY On Jun-02-10 at 09:29:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I've included pics with the hood sides installed . They are installed for shipping. I've also included a pic of the items that go with it in the bed. Also included are a group of regular pictures taken by the previous owner of the truck being built. It shows pics with the cab and bed off and the major body mods being done. If you have any questions, be sure to ask prior to bidding. As the truck does not have side windows and there are many items in the bed, I highly recommend that when the truck is shipped you chose a carrier that has an enclosed trailer. I have used Thomas Sunday in the past and have been very happy with their care and service. On Jun-03-10 at 09:51:31 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to cover all the bases... I am neither a professional mechanic nor custom car builder. With that in mind, I have described the truck to the best of my knowledge. By bidding you are buying the truck "AS IS".
