I have been trying to decide how to accurately describe this really nice '72 2002. In speaking to friends in the BMW club the best way is to say; this car is one you can take to a show or on a road trip and never need to make an excuse. The car is "rock solid" and will cruise all day at 75-80 mph (or more) with no vibration, no aggrevation. The car looks great, is well detailed, starts without hesitation, stops straight and literally can be enjoyed every day. This is an original Malaga (painted once about 4 years ago) and Tan (this is the original interior and shows very little wear). It was internally inspected; bores were excellent the head was as new. The motor is fine internally (and externally) and appears to be low milleage. The bearings were checked and left in place. A new chain and tensioner was installed. Of course the clutch and related parts were replaced. The suspension was refreshed as needed. The motor is fed by a Weber 32/36 under the original air cleaner with correct air nozzle. There is a tii style cast exhaust manifold. The car runs just great and with the careful mods performs like a tii. The body is straight and rust and accident free. The paint is approximately 4 years old and while I am more critical than most it is a 7 overall out of 10. Trim is very nice, chrome and stainless is very nice to good. There are no "pits" in any trim. The interior is original, seats do not have any rips, tears, cuts, broken stiching. The door panels retain the chrome accent strips. The headliner is excellent and the visors are excellent. I left the sheepskin on the drivers seat but the seat looks like the passenger seat. I have a matching sheepskin for the passenger seat. The car is advertised locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
