I bought this car in 2008 to restore for my daughter. I have since spent thousands of dollars on mechanical items to make it new again. My daughter thinks F's are for fantastic in school and as the story goes, she gets no license when she turns 16 nor a car. Therefore, I have no need for this anymore. The transmission was the biggest expense. I replaced the ENTIRE cooling system, brakes, front and rear with performance rotors and new calipers and pads, Most sensors to include the MAF, all new tires etc. Please see the list below. I drove the car from Florida to KY after the transmission install and got 26mpg at 75mph. It needs a muffler and some interior work. The driver seat metal bracket is broken. I never got around to the cruise control but all the parts appear there. It has a electric hatch release that was working until it was slammed shut. I think it was knocked off and fell inside. It does not have a radio and the electric fan is on a manual switch. It needs the fan switch sensor changed to make it normal again. The dashpad is just sitting on it and needs to be screwed back down. I changed the heater core in Dec when I was home visiting and ran out of time. The car runs great while on the gas. It wants to surge when you let of and its coasting. It normals out again at idle. I think it's a leaking fuel injector spraying fuel, causing the surge. the tachometer is not accurate and the temp gauge is intermittent. The drive door panel rubber is hanging. It needs the plastic panel bolts for a few bucks. The right rear trim piece is broken too as is the hood louvre (it flew off and scared me to death). It will run like a raped ape though. I don't have a key for the doors or T-TOPs, just the ignition. I'm stationed in California and my nephew runs it up and down the road to keep the fluids going. I just need it gone. I have over $4,000 into it. My loss is your gain. It's mechanically sound!! I've described this to the best of my ability. Please contact me with any questions.
