1970 Mustang Fastback Boss 302 Clone: - Rare - Grabber Special Value Package Washington, NC Don't let the pretty flowers fool you. This 1970 Mustang Fastback Boss 302 Clone is one mean, muscular machine. From its iconic fastback styling and look-at-me yellow paint with stripes to its high-octane 302 engine and no-nonsense black interior, this stunning Mustang is for showing off and making statements. Namby-pambies need not call. To be clear, this is NOT a real Boss 302. But park this baby next to a real one and you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference. Get this one for less than $20k, while real ones in this condition are going for three times as much. And if you haven't noticed, clones of all kinds lately have been appreciating faster than regular models. Don't let this one get away. Click HERE for a 3:38-second YouTube video of the car. Posted below is the official Marti Standard Report for this car. The report identifies the car's original equipment and options. Please look it over. It should answer a lot of your questions. Exactly when the car was converted to a clone is unknown, but the conversion/restoration was well done as you can see in the photos. If you're looking for classic muscle that will turn heads, this is it. Solid body. Excellent chrome and paint. Nice interior. Strong engine. Sweet-sounding exhaust. Alignment is straight. Brakes are super. Lots of power. Drive anywhere. Overall, this is a nice driving classic muscle car that anyone would be proud to own. Has the pully for the AC, but that is it besides all the interior dash components. Heater core needs replacing and is disconnected. The kick down cable on the transmission is not hooked up. I have not been able to find a replacement cable yet. No jack or spare tire. Please ask questions as this is still a 40 year old car and I am not a dealer and may have missed some detail that you would like to know. I will be glad to provide interested buyers with any other pictures or information they would like on the car. I will require the winning bidder to pick the car up in person to inspect the car and make sure they are happy with their purchase prior to driving it away. Thanks for looking! In February of 1970, Ford introduced a special model called the Mustang Grabber, along with the new Maverick Grabbers , to promote the lineup of "Grabber" colors Ford had that year. According to the factory press release in February of 1970, the Mustang Grabber was available with Grabber Green, Grabber Blue, Grabber Orange, Vermillion (also known as Calypso Coral), and Bright Yellow. All Mustang Grabbers were Mustang Sportsroofs, or fastbacks, with an option on the invoice called "Grabber Special Value Package." Most cars had either black or white interiors, however other interior colors were available. In addition, the Grabbers were equipped as follows: - Black "C" body tape stripe similar in appearance to the 1969 Boss 302 but without any lettering in the fender area - 302 2V "Windsor" engine - Dual sport mirrors color matched to the body color - Black painted rear taillight panel similar to the Boss 302 but the taillight bezels remained chrome. - 14 inch standard steel wheels with "Dog Dish" style trim rings and center caps - Transmission was either 3 speed standard or C-4 automatic Many Grabbers have been lost to history due to repaints when the stripe kits were not available as they are now to restore the car to it's original appearance. There may be many Grabbers out there that simply look like a plain Mustang fastback. Only the factory invoice can verify a Mustang Grabber. Well known Mustang expert, Kevin Marti, has documented in his book, "Mustang by the Numbers", that there were 5120 Mustang Grabbers sold in 1970. Marti Auto Works can provide a Factory Invoice for 1970 Mustangs. Considering the years that have passed and the many ends that these and other Mustangs have unfortunately experienced, there is no way of knowing how many of these great looking examples of the Mustang's Golden age are still around. The Mustang Grabber Registry is dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of the 1970 Mustang Grabbers and to maintain a registry to provide a source of information about the Mustang Grabbers and a way to keep track of how many still exist. It has registered members from the United States as well as other countries. Many registered owners are not members of any club. There is no cost to register and all member information is strictly confidential. All Mustang Grabbers are welcome regardless of their condition, including wrecked, destroyed, or parted out vehicles. The Boss emblem is reflective at night. COOL! Washington, NC On May-28-10 at 19:57:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Please give me a call with any questions you have on this car.
