For sale by original owner. I'm only selling her because I received a new one as a surprise gift. It has never been in an accident. It has been backed into by an elderly woman in a parking lot, leaving a small crack on the front driver-side fender. It is ready to drive as-is, in great running condition. Could use a little bit of love. LOW RESERVE! 5 speed Manual gear 1.8 GLX. The Blue book quotation is from 4440 to 3890 USD for good to fair condition. Color is black. Apart from standard features this car has: front and lateral air bags, a great electrical moon-roof, an alarm, power doors, windows and mirrors, electrical cruise control, a spoiler that pops up automatically at 90mph, or manually with a switch under the dash, and a 6 cd changer in the trunk. Cassette or one of two power ports up front work great for iPod adapters. Recent updates/repairs: This car has a brand new battery as of 4/28/10, and all 4 tires are new as of 9/25/09. There is a 3-yr alignment policy I purchased with the tires, meaning you can take the vehicle back to Express Tires through 9/25/12 for unlimited free alignments. New clutch was put in in Feb 2009, and has roughly 10,000 miles on it. Have the paperwork for all of this. Minor defects: the airbag light has been on for a few months. The front and rear bumpers have minor paint damage. There is a small crack in the front left bumper. The windshield needs to be replaced (have a quote for $175). The trunk latch is not latching shut; it most likely just needs some grease, but may need to be repaired/replaced. The window switch on the passenger door broke off--window still works fine. It would probably cost a few dollars to replace. There is a whistling sound in the cab when you hit ~2000rpms. Mechanics have told me it needs a new n75 valve ($100). This does not affect performance; the sealant is just a little aged so there is air escaping over 2000rpms, hence the whistling. She needs a little bit of love, but can also be driven as-is. The only things you would have to worry about spending major money on (over $30) would be the windshield and whatever the issue with the airbags is (may turn out to be nothing), and of course the paint job if you want to spruce it up. It needs a little bit of love if you want to give it, but it is also in great running condition as-is. On May-22-10 at 12:26:43 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: Original remote/key has remote only. The remote still works, but the metal part of the key fell off some time ago. I have been using the valet key instead. You can get the original key replaced if you wish at any VW dealer. NOTE: Just noticed that the ground effects on driver's side has some paint damage and is pushed up a little bit. Will try to add pictures later.
