Vehicle Detail
1964 Buick Riviera - This is done in a nice Black metallic with Eggplant inlayed stripes to match the motor and brakes.Black interior in great shape for the age with drivers seat needing attention (see pic) sitting on 18 Dayton old school 150 spoke rims (I just picked them up used with used tires this weekend as the 14''s it had were shot and tooooo small) Was getting ready to redo all the wood trim (they are all replaceable and for sale on EBAY) see photos. Was going to mix a little purple in with wood stain and really give it a finished custom look. But now I will leave that to you.As I am investing my efforts in an all original 56 and 65. THis is a great daily driver and head turner. It looks as good as some I have seen at Barret Jackson HOWEVER I will give it a 7 out of a 10...See bottom of ad for why. RUNS and DRIVES - not currently on the road/tagged as the Brake lights dont work - Either both bulbs.ground have gone or the switch (never got around to troubleshooting) (other projects) Selling with Clear TITLE and AS IS - The as is part comes in because aside from local shows I havnt driven it more than 70 miles in the last month. Would call this as a very nice driver. There are no dents etc and the paint is fresh but it was NOT a rotisserie restoration. Just sanded to mostly metal and all small pin holes (like the standard nose issue-was done in metal NOT bondo). couple primers then paint... There was not alot of body work needed it is was all metal just an ugly previous paint job. The motor is done in a purple metalflake and if you look real close at the hood (closer than 5 feet) you can see the purple metallic stripes in the hood and rear trunk, It was designed to look all black till you are within a foot of it. Had to take a million pics to see it - very subtle. Looks like all new rubber around doors.trunk and windows Although she runs -drives and stops - and this is my opinion The transmission could use a rebuild kit - Its the two speed and I can feel a slip under heavy acceleration.. SO while it is up for auction I'll spend the the 230 bucks and get this done through Murphys transmission since they are everywhere. (they work on all my cars - ((I had 34 at one time YIKES) and get it fixed correctly and probably cheaper than you could.!!! Keep in MIND -This is the desired 425 NAIL HEAD .. The original muscle cars... The engine compartment is almost show worthy with new brake master also in Purple.. I would tidy it up a little (would use a braided alternator cable etc. and put new exhaust manifolds(or redo) . The exhaust is dual and pretty new. It wont take much to have one bad ass rivi... for a fraction of the cost of those $22,000.00 ++cars I have it for sale locally so reserve th eight to end early MOst of the times when I sell any of my cars off (to raise money for another project) they never make it to the endo of auction.. If you ask I will tell you the reserve...after you bid once...What you wanted a free lunch:) ? Let me know if you have questions I'll try and take shots of the good the bad and the ugly... There are lots of new components . Looks like Headliner and carpets are new as well. Trunk looks great as this is a Texas car also painted black. On the WILDCAT question - I never looked for the build sheet or the engine block the original aircleaner is long gone. .... also the intake looks like you could use the two carb set up (this is a guess as I did not take everything off to look) Why a 7 out of a ten when it looks so good.?? ((If I made it a 10...I'de keep it)) Tint need to be replaced its old an ugly Front windshield has a large crack I have a $100 replacement in ft worth just never picked it up.. Polisher Buffer burn mark on drivers side above rear wheel (see pic) about 1/2 inch in size andit needs two more coats of clear... Tires need to be replaced in the future.. The heater control switch box was just installed (previously it just had the wood inlay over it. So it is mech. installed not hooked up -harbness is there I just didnt have the manual with me at the time so I didnt want to screw it up... Replace all the wood dash treatments for approx 150 bucks the best bang for the buck. Normally I would do all this before sale,,,But another much more expensive project is lined up so I know I wont get to this.. Good Luck and feel free to ask any questions. On May-18-10 at 05:36:19 PDT, seller added the following information: 5/18/2010 OTHER QUESTIONS::: YES - NO RESERVE - Yeah I know in the description it says it has one-- but I forgot to set that when I listed it.. SO HIGHEST BIDDER WINS .... No -That is not scratches in the 2nd photo - just reflections in the paint... Yes (I found the paperwork and called) according to the previous owner and the build codes this is the original 425 motor he replaced a lot of gaskets and what not when he painted the motor purple metalflake but didnt have receipts so I cant guarantee that... The intake looks like the dual carb set up but he cant confirm it and I dont know enough to tell you (see one of the last photo's for the extra mounting bracket) Mileage - The title says miles exempt - which on old cars in texas is typical (lazy at the DMV) BUT I cannot gaurantee the miles... Given the nature of the interior (seats are not worn out etc) I would say it is close,,,Again the previous owner says it correct and he had in in storage for years BUT I cannot provide proof. Underside photo's - I put a couple in to show there is only minor surface rust (should have power washed it) I see a few bottom out scapes BUT that was caiused cause the previous owner had 14 inch wheels on it,,, YES- It has a new exhaust system (thanks for asking!!) I also have a pair of exhaust manifold gaskets (I like to change those as most old cars leak there) I have a spare set that go with the car. No - I did not pull up all the rugs and check the floorpans - The trunk I did and its 100% solid! These are all good questions!! Keep in mind I am not selling a 100% original $35,000 dollar car.. This is a mild custom that could be driven today OR you finish it up and have a great car for the money. Dan
