1985 Black BMW *K100RS* *163,284 MILES* with Two Cobin Seats "Not running" WELCOME AND THANK YOU FOR VIEWING MY NO RESERVE AUCTION Up for sale is my 1985 BMW K100RS. I purchased this motorcycle for my local commute. I have driven it for about 1,500 miles. The Good * The Engine is in excellent working condition. It still powerful, with no oil leaks * Recent service (the last 1,500 miles) · Synthetic oil & engine oil filter · Rear shaft assembly oil change · Spark plugs (NGK) · New rear brake pads · BMW OEM genuine gaskets (cylinder head & crankcase) & all rubber bushes, thus no more oil leaks from engine * Rear tire about 75% thread remaining * Two ignition keys; one saddlebag key and two Givi keys * Factory side cases with key. Givi top box with LED brake lights (not connected to motorcycle brake lights), enough space for two large helmets * Two cobin seats, “two-up” & “gunfighter” styles * No leaks (engine, suspension, or rear shaft assembly) * Previous owner added services (around 4,000 miles ago), per verbal conversation · New Throttle position sensor · Remanufactured fuel injectors · New ultra Extreme Gel Battery · New fuel pump The bad * Last week, I was ready to go to work. The motorcycle started fine as usual. After 4 minutes, the motorcycle just turned off (as If I had pressed the kill switch). I checked the fuses; they are OK. The headlight beams work OK, turn signals & brake lights OK. I think it is an electrical issue. I think it might be the main relay. There is no power in the dashboard, no engine crank. I do not have the money nor the time to pay a BMW technician to troubleshoot the electrical issue. * The current mileage on odometer shows 163, 283, “not actual” .I do not know nor the previous owner what the actual mileage is. * Front tire about 40% thread remaining, with about 50% front brakes remaining lining * It could use some paint (it is not perfect) * 2nd gear slips out when hard on throttle; otherwise, it shifts OK * Both Cobin seats need recovering * Some cosmetic damaged to right fairing (see picture) * Overall cosmetic condition, I would give it 6 out of 10. The motorcycle has a solid engine; it is not surprising to see this BMW motorcycle model with 250K miles. Besides the cosmetic issues, the major issue is the transmission & now the electrical issue. I have been shifting from 1st to 3rd gear when hard on throttle; otherwise, I use 2nd gear when easy on throttle. An used transmission in ebay ranges from $150-300. I do not have the money nor the time for another project. I have decided to sell it. Please be realistic in your expectations from a 15 years old motorcycle, just the cost of some used saddlebags + Give case is around $400 dollar.
