Vehicle Detail

I have owned this 1968 Jaguar E Type Series 1 1/2 coupe since September, 2003 and during that time have driven it 2600 miles. The previous owner bought it in 1988 and completely restored it after which he drove it less that 2000 miles before I purchased it. The car was restored as original except for a few items (interior color is on dash instead of black, bullet mirrors on fenders instead of on doors, and splayed resonators). Even though the car has Zenith Stomberg carburators (new for 1968), the car has incredible low end torque. The Series 1 1/2 still has the body of the Series 1. There are many, including me, who consider the styling of the E Type Series 1 fixed head coupe to be the pinnicle of Jaguars artistic expression. This car is extremely tight; there are absolutely no bumps, rattles or squeaks. It is not a concurs-level vehicle but close. It is a very solid 2. The interior is almost flawless. The paint is probably 25 years old but is still glossy except for a few small areas and no scratchs or dings. The chrome is all secure and 85-90% of original brightness with no dings or pitting. To drive this vehicle is to know what a true Jaguar driving experience is. Why am I selling it? I have too many vehicles and I need to simplify my life. This car has no issues, everything works including the clock (it loses 3 minutes a year). On May-19-10 at 14:32:12 PDT, seller added the following information:This listing is now open to worldwide bidding. I neglected give deposit instructions. They are: $5000.00 deposit within 48 hours with full payment within 7 days. The reserve has effectively been met. Additional information from the previous owner and listing agent are available. Send me a Fax number and I will send it.On May-22-10 at 17:50:27 PDT, seller added the following information: I have taken more photos at the request of some bidders so will post those as well as a few more comments about the car. Looking at the car more closely now that I am being questioned, I found some small rust bubbles in the paint. There are a couple of small spots at the bottom of the passenger side door on the outside but underneath is very solid. There are a couple more small spots above the rear wheel well on the driver's side. Also, one tiny paint chip next to the door handle on the driver's side. The undercarriage of the car has a few dents in the footwell panels but nothing of consequence. There are a few areas of superficial surface rust in the undercarriage and very minor surface rust in the spare wheel well (as shown in the photos). I did not prep this car in any way before listing and taking photos. I should have. I realize now that 3-4 hours with a bucket of soapy water and a brush would have improved the quality of the photos immensely. If more photos or information are needed, let me know and I will furnish them. Thanks
