This car has been converted professionally on a Mercedes Only Shop, by a Diesel Mercedes Benz Certified technician, (records included); you can fill up your single tank with 100%: SVO or Bio-Diesel or Diesel Fuel, or any combination of these fuels, with no risk to ruin your engine The 12 v thermostatically controlled electric oil heating system activates during the glow plug warm up, and keeps the fuel at a constant temperature. It uses the car's existing tank (single tank system) This allows you to not only drive off vegetable oil, but also start-up your car like normal Diesel fuel without the use of any switches, or confusing procedures versus the complicated messy, extra weight and bulky 2 tank systems that if you forget to switch from SVO or WVO to Diesel and wait to purge your fuel lines with diesel from the other tank before shutting the engine off…….. The Technician installed High quality British, US and German made parts. A similar conversion by ELSBETT is done for around $2,000.00 - $2,500.00 (this includes the kit and installation) depending on the car model and engine type (please check the http://www.elsbett.com web site), this European company has been converting diesel engines to run on one tank system for more than 20 years they also manufacture engines to run exclusively on SVO. I bought this Station Wagon at a used car dealer in Los Angeles with the sole intention to pull out the engine and have it installed on my 1985 300SD but after driving it for 130 miles at freeway speeds the wagon handled so good that I changed my mind so I took it to the Mercedes Shop for a inspection, the technician confirmed my findings it was in better shape than the 300SD to make a long story short the wagon was restored and converted to burn vegetable oil or bio diesel, now it’s ready for another 28 years of good service to her new proud owner due to the fact that I have too many cars and no more room for another . No rust 144,897 k miles at the working odometer I can’t verify if the mileage is the actual mileage or not but It’s on the car Title by the California DMV. Good brakes, Suspension feels like a newer car excellent ride on any road and at ANY speed. All 4 tires are in good shape the spare tire is in good shape also Oil and fuel filters changed, No strange noises Valves adjusted, very smooth running engine The small flaws for a car this age with shiny and excellent paint are very few, very few chips on the paint (see pictures) all gauges including the clock work ok The nice looking MB Tex seats are in good condition no shaggy springs Dash has some small cracks but it has a custom cover A/C blows but not cold No steering wheel play This Mercedes diesel has a very elegant color combination of Burgundy exterior with a matching MB Tex, Palomino interior. Glass and chrome trim in good shape, and the body is straight! Chrome/rubber bumpers are in excellent shape. The interior on this car is in good condition. Interior wood trim pieces are all in good condition! Under dash, panels have no damage! Door panels are in good shape Nice headliner All electric windows work Manual Sun roof opens and closes ok, no leaks. Nice quiet diesel clatter with a smooth idle Powerful 5 cylinder diesel engine with plenty of power, and offers great fuel mileage. This diesel engine runs and sounds perfect Very easy to start in the mornings it starts at the first engine crank Power 4-disc brakes works great; Power steering works well; Car stops and turns fine. Automatic transmission works like a Mercedes transmission Comes with some records and some MB brochures This car starts well and warms up quickly. Fuel mileage 25-28 city and 28-31 highway.
