Vehicle Detail

1970 SAAB 96 Restored in 1997 over $18,000 in Reciepts, Factory Saab/Ford Taunas V4, 4spd Manual, B6 Husser Blue Exterior, Freewheel Option, Disc Front Brakes... NO RESERVE!!! Svenska Aeroplan AktieBolaget: This is a really nice little 1970 Saab 96, in excellant shape. This will make someone a great show car, and one that you can bring to the local track events, club events, and rallys. This obviously is not a race car, but these cars are very well known for there race hertiage, even today you see them at Sovren, and Scca Historic Racing events. Back in the late 90's, this little Saab went through an extensive restoration, and since then there are been small upgrades done to it, with better NOS parts, and upgrades. I have reciepts from 1998, that total over $18,000 dollars, which I have calculated, but possibly more invested since that period of time. It only has 13,000 miles on the restoration, since 1998, from what I can tell in the reciepts. If you are looking for a very nice Saab, that you can drive anywhere, and enjoy right now, this is the car. It is not perfect, but it is very, very nice, and in excellant shape, mechanically, and cosmetically. I am a Ford and Mercury guy, but I have just fallen in love with Saabs in general, they are great cars, and truly when you look at them, and spend time with them, the are truly inspired by jets airplanes. The engine I believe is the factory original, if you are new to the Saab world, you will notice that it has a Ford 4V engine, this is the Factory engine that Saab used in these cars, which is great, because you can easily work on them, and buy most parts from your local parts store. The engine runs great, it starts right up, it has a manual choke, with a Weber carburetor for added relieability. It also has an electric fuel pump as well, that works off the key, or you can turn it off by a toggle switch. It also has a Petronix Electronic Ignition, so no need for Points any more, this is an awesome upgrade, that keeps the factory look of an original cap. It runs very nice, it idles great, it does not blow or burn any oil. It has great accelleration, and you can drive it anywhere. So if you win it, fly in and drive it home. The transmission shifts very nice, no noise, no chattering, it shifts really smooth, and the clutch feels great. The brakes work great, and stop the car like it did new. The brake shows and rotors look in great shape. Mechanically this car is in great shape. Body is very nice, and in excellant shape. There are a few chips that have been touched up, but you have to start looking close to see anything. The body is very straight, and clean. Look at all the seams, look great, and panels seem to be in good shape. Paint is factor Husser Blue, and is a great color, that you do not see that often. Paint is very shiny, and in great shape. All the weather stripping looks like it has been replaced, and looks in decent shape. Pulled the carpets out so you could see the floors, and they are very clean. Under the rear seat is very nice, truck floor and rear shock towers are in very good shape. The wheels were all blasted and powdered coated, in Argent Siver as well. The tires look to be in very good shape as well, and look good. Over all the body on this car is in very nice shape. Floors look to be in great shape, from what I can tell there are no major floor repairs made everything looks original. Interior is in very good shape. Seats are in great shape, no tears or wear. The carpet is excellant and in great shape. Headliner is very nice, no tears, and it is very clean. All the interior lights work. All guages work, the heater works excellant. Dash Pad has no cracks, which is really hard to find on with a dash this nice. The radio is not hooked up currently, and I do not know the condition of it, but it is in good shape. View all the pictures of the interior, it has great interior. Nice option this year, the rear seat folds fowarded and it has 2 pulls on top of the rear package tray, which will be very handy for any caring various items when needed. Al the glass is in excellant shape, and all the windows roll up and down nicely as well. All the external ights are in great shape, great lens, the only lights not currently are the back up lights. The rear lic. plate lights work as well. The fog lamps probably work, but currently are not wired up. My vintage plates do not go with the car, I use these for vintage period photos, and use them when I take the cars to Car Shows, with I plan to do in the next few days. If you are from Oregon, it comes with current, Crater Lake Plates. I have sold many cars to folks overseas, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Mexico, Japan, Korea etc, and many new people on ebay with 0 feedback, everyone has to start somewhere.
