1984 Honda Interceptor

I've put 15,000 miles on this bike over the past year, never left me stranded. Knocked out 1000 mile weekends easily. While most modern sportbikes are faster, none could keep up for very long--the combination of seating position, seat comfort, fairing protection and power at all rpm's made this bike an absolute blast to poke through traffic at 70-80 mph all day long. 6 Gallon tank gets ~200 miles between fill ups. Starts, runs, stops well. But, it is 25 years old. The Good: -Starts right up when cold -Brakes gone through, work great -chain and sprockets replaced -Entire valvetrain gone through, no wear; has had external oil delivery to head rerouted to come from the mail oil galley -Runs smooth, quiet, cool at all speeds -All gauges and switches function properly -Seat in good shape -VF800 rear coilover swapped in -VF1000R front forks -Brake/Clutch Master sight glasses replaced -Doesn't look like its been down -Uses no oil between changes (at least so far as i can tell) filter+oil changed regularly -Current registration, Title in my name The Bad: -Tires need replaced -missing fuse cover panel on upper tripe tree, license plate light -Starter won't crank well when hot (heat soak?) Always starts when cool -Battery shows signs of corrosion -Exhaust leak at main collector -Left fork seal starting to leak -Seeps engine oil from where shifter shaft comes through engine case, enough to puddle on the exhaust collector and smoke on startup for a minute or two depending on how long its been sitting. -Paint in OK shape, looks good from 10 feet away -Dents, cracks, scrapes in bodywork from 25+ years of use If you don't care too much about the paint then tires, starter, battery, fork seals will have you in good shape.
