Relisting - due to previous IDIOT bidder wgabbert who won the car, and then dropped off the face of the planet in hiding! PLEASE PLEASE - DO NOT BID ON THIS CAR UNLESS YOU ARE A SERIOUS BUYER, AND HAVE THE MONEY IN HAND! PLEASE DON'T WASTE MY TIME AND COST ME ADDITIONAL EBAY FEES! WINNING BIDDER MUST PROVIDE AN IMMEDIATE DOWN PAYMENT OF $300 TO HOLD THE CAR. Tired of being just like all those other cars on the road? Seen enough Camaros or Mustangs at the local shows to think that every single one ever made is still running around? Want to be different and yet drive something that gets good looks where ever you go? Then this is the car for you. For Sale: A 1974 AMC Hornet 2 door Hatchback. I have a clear Arizona Title Box A title in hand. Original License plates from 1973. This Hornet has very low original mileage of about ~43300 documented miles. It has been an Arizona car since new. This Hornet was built in November 1973. It is a real 2 Owner car – I’m the 2nd owner only. Original owner up until 2007, when I acquired this car. Has 100% original paint. Arizona Rust Free as you would expect. The bottom of the car is rust free and clean as an Arizona car should be. The only rust on the car is a small spot on at the battery tray. I have many original documents, including the original owner’s manual, original window sticker, service manual, etc. Car sold new for $3582! This is a great find for the AMC / AMX buff. This AMC Hornet is painted Fawn Beige with a Snow white painted top. For those of you that remember, this is pretty much the same color combo as the Phoenix Police cars from that time period. Looks very good! The paint is still pretty nice, and shines up quite well. It does have it’s share of paint chips, nicks and a few small door dings from 36 years of service. Hood has a slight kink on the driver’s side due to a sticky hood hinge (not from me). Original factory pin stripes are still there! Options include the original 258 six cylinder engine, 904 automatic transmission, power steering, power disc brakes (owner added), A/C, tinted glass, AM radio (works great), Rally Clock, fold down seat, chrome mirror, and hidden luggage compartment. Owner added option of 14 inch AMC Ralley wheels with cool volcano caps, and new AMC insert decals. The wheels and tires look great! Tires and nearly new BFG white letter radials, 215/70/14 in size. Several NOS pieces were found for this car and installed, including the AMC emblem, AM Radio, and Ralley clock, NOS air cleaner decal, etc. Many many repaired or new items, new battery, new front and rear springs, (gives it a really nice stance – would be perfect for a V8 conversion if you wanted to do that), new KYB shocks, new spring perches, new upper and lower ball joints, new bushings, re-cored radiator, new power steering pump, new belts, Power steering cooler added (looks really nice – just like factory) ! Also, current owner has done new timing chain, new water pump, new thermostat, new vacuum advance, full tune up (plugs, wires, points, cap, rotor), new power steering hoses, and a new trans filter and fluid! New transmission cooler, Petronix coil, new fuel pump, new 1V carb, new hatchback lift cylinders (those weren’t cheap @ more than $100), new radiator and heater hoses. New master cylinder and brake hardware as well. Engine compartment is very clean! Repainted valve cover in correct metallic blue color, looks very nice! I used the car to drive back and forth to work all last year, and it did just fine. What does the car need now? The A/C was recently recharged and now works, but it may have a slow leak. Has a star chip in the windshield middle. The automatic trans seems to have a slight slip when cold (a 904 shift improvement kit is included). Driver’s door hinges sag a little. Newly rebuilt door hinges are included. Also, have a replacement hood for the car. It does fit inside the car, so if the car is shipped, I will include the hood for free. The Tan interior is all original, and has a few tears near the seat top from sun burn. Overall it is still a nice presentable interior however. Dash pad does have a crack. Carpet is a little worn in the back (see photos for details). Please remember that this is a used 36+ year old car, so it may have it’s share of small problems, but overall it’s a nice car, that was well kept over the years. All exterior lights work, no funny rattles, etc. Also, if buy it now is used, I will include a very nice new car cover! Car runs and drives good. Could you drive this car across country or to another state? I would hope so, but with any old car you never know what could go out. I would recommend the car be shipped by professional transporter, and I can help with shipping arrangements as needed, to drop the car off, etc. All these “fix” items are pretty straight forward and can be done by your average car hobbiest on the weekends. No major repairs are needed. Bid Details: I am selling this car for a close friend. His contact information is below. Please contact him directly to ask any detailed questions! Please serious bidders only! Please no emails offering to trade me your Chevy truck, beat up lawn mower, or dog. I don’t need any more stuff. The owner has listed this car for sale on other car forums – so he does reserve the right to end the auction early and cancel all bids – providing that the reserve price still has not been met. Once the reserve price has been met, I will not end the auction early. Also, we will NOT disclose the reserve price – so please don’t ask, as it is not fair to bidders. If you want the car now - use the buy it now price – that is what it is for! The reserve price and buy it now prices are very reasonable for a AMC car that is this original. You must have more than 5 positive feedbacks – or we reserve the right to cancel your bid (sorry I have been burned before by zero feedback bidders). If you have less than 5 feedbacks, I recommend you email me your phone #, to let me know you are a serious bidder, and can close the deal. Please no phone calls offering me less than the buy it now price. Questions regarding the condition of the car, shipping details, etc. – are AOK. THIS AMC HORNET IS SOLD AS IS – WHERE IS. Owner will do his best to answer your questions honestly and intelligently, and welcomes any inspections or driving of the car. Please come and see it – if you plan to bid. Car location / Shipping Details: This AMC Hornet is located in PHOENIX, AZ, 85031. Owner would prefer local pick of the car if at all possible. The weather in AZ is super nice now – so make a trip out of it, and come and get it. Owner will be more than happy to help you load the car on your car trailer. Owner can deliver the car in person for free anywhere in the Metro Phoenix Area. Owner will work with the winning bidder to have the car shipped if needed by your trucking company. Shipping to the east coast can run ~$1000 or so. Owner cannot assume any liability for the car once it leaves his hand, so shipping is at your own risk – with your own company. Payment in full must be made (and verified by my bank as valid funds) – before owner will allow this AMC Hornet to leave his possession. Payment in cash in person is OK. I will not send out a second chance offer on the car, so if you get one – it is a scam. My reserve is very low – and I want to sell the car the 1st time around! Payment Details: Please bid only if you have ALL your funds in order and are ready to take this classic AMC home. Within 48 hours of auction close - the winning bidder must submit a $300 non-refundable payment via paypal or money order sent by over night letter to show their intent to close this deal. The winning bidder will also be required to submit payment in full within 10 days of auction end, or item will be re-listed and down payment forfeited. We have tried to describe this car to the best of our ability. You will not be disappointed in this car, and it has great potential. Questions: PLEASE Call the Owner Blake @ (623) 247-7420 or (623) 326-5395 or email to scjfalconman@cox.net if you have questions. Viewing and driving of the car in person is encouraged. Call to set up a time. Also, we can send more pictures if needed – just let us know what you want to see. Good luck bidding. Here are the photos of the lower rockers on the driver's side. You can see the stained paint, and there is a little surface rust, where the tar has eaten some of the paint off. But nothing serious. Thanks! THIS CAR HAS NO SIGNIFICANT RUST - IT IS AN ARIZONA CAR! > <> <> <> <>
