1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass/Cierra 3.1 L V6 Engine, 4 Speed Automatic Trans, MPG: Rural 24, Highway 29. Interior is gray and grungy, seats six. With proper attention, I think the car will easily go another 45,000 miles. I have owned it for a year and allowed my son to drive it for about 10,600 miles. He has decided to upgrade to the next level, and now I have an extra car. 03/24/09 Purchase Date 04/16/09 Replace Driver Exterior Door Handle 07/16/09 Replace Wiper Blades, Transmission Fluid and Filter/ and Steering Wheel Cover 09/16/09 Oil and Filter Change at 107,700 miles 09/29/09 Auto Trans Fluid Checked and topped off 10/05/09 109,090 miles, replace alternator, battery, pass headlight, emergency brake handle, and tire repair 11/22/09 Two new front tires 12/08/09 Upgrade Alt with lifetime warranty one 112,196 miles 03/07/10 Oil and Filter Change at 115844 miles Current Mileage as of 05/02/10 is 116,348 NJ State Inspection Sticker Expiration Date 07/2011 No major oil or trans fluid or coolant or exhaust leaks Tires in good shape with two new ones on the front Body in good shape, minimal if any rust Check Engine Light is OFF Known Problems Rear Passenger Side Electric Window does not work Rear Passenger Side arm rest is incomplete Air Conditioning Compressor is blown Passenger Headlight is not aimed perfectly Front side of Grill on passenger side is broken Undiagnosed Problem The alternator has been replaced three times in the past year. The last time the symptoms developed, (car runs slow and turn signals blink slowly if at all), the battery was recharged and the system has run for the past two to three months. A dealer mechanic suggested the ignition switch is defective. And that, is all I know about this one.
