FRAME OFF RESTORATION 1972 HONDA CT-70 This is most likely the nicest 1972 Honda Trail 70 in the USA! No expense was spared to bring this bike back to showroom condition. Every nut and bolt was removed, every part cleaned, polished, chromed, painted or replaced with NOS (New Old Stock) Honda OEM parts. Note: This bike has the 3-speed semi-automatic transmission. A RESERVE WELL BELOW MY COST I have set a reserve on this auction well below my actual cost of restoration. Whomever wins this auction will be getting a great bargain. Here are just a few of my costs to complete this restoration: Cost of bike - $1,200Professional 3-stage Ruby Red paint/clear coat - $700Chrome plating - $800Complete engine rebuild and refurb wit new carb - $800NOS muffler and heat shield - $249Cadmium plating on fasteners - $150 For more details AND a movie, check out my Trail 70 Website I am selling this bike to make room in my garage for my next restoration project. Restoring vintage bikes is my hobby and my passion. Note: The taillight shown in some of the photos here has been replaced with an NOS Honda OEM 1972 taillight. I reserve the right to close this auction early in the event the item sells locally. On May-06-10 at 07:35:05 PDT, seller added the following information: I should note that the taillight shown in some of the photos is not correct for the 1972 CT70. These were taken right after the restoration and I had not received the correct taillight assembly at that point. You will see some later photos on my website that shows the new, correct taillight. On May-06-10 at 14:19:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I just found out that I will have to be out of town until Friday, May 14 so the bike would not be available for pickup until late that afternoon or Saturday morning.
