I came across this vehicle a few days ago at a impound yard in Springfeild Oregon as I was buying some tires for a truck I had , the place informed me that the vehicle was a recent impound by the police of the city and that it was for sale ,so I looked it over and I was quite impressed , therfore I negociated a deal with them and went ahead and purchased it . Not knowing if it ran or not I had it towed to my place of business. After charging the battery and putting some gas in the vehicle I attempted to start it . It fired up immediately with no engine noise, smoke, or blow -by whatsoever ,It sounded very good, although when I went to put it in gear it did not go anywhere so I checked the trany fluid and it was very low so I filled it with fluid and It took right off. I drove the vehicle for awhile and it drove very smooth and straight, it brakes very good and cruises nicely down the highway but I think the transmission needs work as It seems to have no low gear. The body is very straight ,solid and rust free with no apparrent prior body work, and it still has most of its original light blue paint .The chrome and stainless accessories are in very good condition other than the left front head light bezel missing and some damage in the left rear tail-light surround which is a bolt on part and can easily replaced, exterior wise I would say, very well perserved and in good condition. The 20" wire wheels on nice tires size 245x35" 20's are in very good condition are a nice touch. The interior is original and it is rough ,the carpet is worn the headliner is tacked up with tacks ,the seats are torn and the dash is cracked but the wood grain and door panels are in nice condition. It appears that all the accessories lights, heater ,CD,ect all work except for the AC that is all there but missing a belt. There is a sub and amp in the trunk and the CD player is a nice Kenwood deck. Overall I think this is a big potential car that is in need of some work and restoration to be of higher standards. This vehicle was previously listed and it had a bid of fifteen hundred dollars which at the time I thought was way low and not even close to the reserve I wanted at the time, now you can buy this car for less than the value of the wheels and tires. The vehicle is for sale locally, therefore seller has the option to sell the vehicle before the auction ends or buyer can buy it now for the buy now price of only $1200..
