Vehicle Detail
My bike is a real retired ex-Police Patrol bike from Central NJ with 49K miles. It has the classic 1100CC boxer motor, 5 speed, Brembo ABS brakes, Authority version only adjustable shifter, hard detachable city side cases and top box for radio gear, crash bars front and rear, Hella driving lamps, HD extra capacity Authority alternator and heated hand grips. Being a retired municipally owned bike means the maintainance has been well above what is called for by the factory. No expense spared. Just recently I had my mechanic go over the bike and give it a full service. All fluids (engine, transmission and rear) were drained and replaced with BMW synthetic oils and of course all filters replaced with OEM BMW filters ,the valves were set, new choke (1), throttle (all 3) and clutch cable (1), new alternator belt, timing chain tensioner, new fuel pump and filter, quick disconnects for the fuel tank and spark plugs. The painted black side and belly panels were professionally refinished last month in the correct BMW paint code. There are a few stone chips in the white fairing but overall the white painted portion of the bike is in very nice condition. The chrome is perfect with zero pitting or scars. The alloy wheels are like new front and rear. Less than 500 miles on new Dunlop Sportmax radial tubeless run flat high speed tires. The Police (Authority) version of the RT is basically a heavier duty version of the RT. This bike is fast, stable, nimble and a blast to drive. Always the center of attention on the road or at meets. This bike has a clear title,,,not a salvage title like you find on the retired west coast CHP bikes. I will not ship this bike out of the USA,,,,PERIOD,,,,don't ask. I will gladly assist you with the shipping arrangements within the continental USA but all cost for freight (and crating if needed) is your expense. If you have a history of non-payment on Ebay your bid will be cancelled. This bike is owned by a BMW enthusiast with over 35 years of R bike experience. A very solid and nice bike which will take you coast to coast on a moments notice. I take this bike on BMW rallys and knock off 300 to 400 miles a day like its nothing. The RT fairing with power adjustable windscreen and the comfortable adjustable 3 height position saddle makes this a great long range tourer. Bid with confidence. $500. deposit due within 24 hours of auction close. I will not release the bike until it is paid in full. Cashiers Check, Cash or PayPal only,,,no exceptions. On Apr-26-10 at 04:47:50 PDT, seller added the following information: I am NOT a dealer. When I listed I the bike I clicked OWNER but somehow it ended up saying DEALER. I am a member of BMW MOA, BMW RA and the BMW NJ Shore Riders Chapter. On Apr-28-10 at 04:59:57 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: There are some good question coming through but I will not post them for all to see if you include your phone number or email address. I'm pretty sure you don't want your phone number posted all over the world. I will answer some of those question below. 1. The most popular question is "what is the reserve?" which doesn't matter at this point because its only a few dollars away now. 2. Yes,,,all the body panels are there including the diffuser / stabilizer underneath. I had that piece refinished in black when the side panels were done. That piece is almost always missing, cracked or sandblasted on RT and Authority bikes. The diffuser / stabilizer piece ties the two big side panels together underneath but also has two small aerodynamic wings which I assume channel the air in a positive way at speed. It's there,,,perfect,,,and shiny black. 3. Yes,,,if you are local enough to NJ you can come see the bike before the auction ends. If you want a test drive be prepared to hand me $500. in cash before you turn the key,,,just in case you drop it.
