Here we have another "BARN FIND". 1949 Mercury 4-dr. sedan. I bought this car from the daughter of the original buyer. I have a clear registration, signed. Have all the original sales recepts (1949) and warranty papers. This car is complete except for one chrome strip and hood ornament. It's original color was blue but someone primed the car to keep from rusting?? The car is rusty on bottom, rockers etc. Trunk floor is bad, but looks to be an easy fix. The car has a V8 Mercury flathead engine (not running, but turns over freely). This is the engine with the 4" crankshaft. Has all four Mercury 15" rims. Has the 3-spd. overdrive transmission, seems to shift well. I do not know how it is mechanically but owner said it ran a few years ago. Even has the original ignition keys. Has radio, spotlight, skirts and stainless trim rings on wheels. Grille is good except center piece is cracked. Glass is all there. Two door handles missing. This would make an excellent parts car or could be customized or even restored. Good spring project to start on. Don't find these every day. This is a used unit so you are "BUYING AS IS". Buyer is totally responsible for transporting of car. $500.00 payable (nonreturnable) at auction closing. Car must be paid in full (within 7 days) before leaving here.
