Here is another vehicle from our used car "corral". This one is a "handyman's special" or a "15 footer". (from 15 feet away it looks good.)

This is a 2002 Volkswagen Beetle GLS that we received in trade from it's only owner. It has just over 107,000 miles on it and needs both mechanical and body work. Let's begin with the body..
The exterior is black and has damage, starting from front to back...the lower bumper valance is missing along with the fog lamps, the hood has multiple dents (not little dings), there are scrapes and scratches on almost every panel and the deck lid is is also dented. The paint does shine, but that is the extent of the cosmetic good news.
The interior is black cloth and features a pair of front buckets and a rear folding bench. The folding bench allows for a larger cargo area with pass-through to the trunk. The upholstery is worn, stained and has some holes. There are nasty stains on the seats that would not shampoo away with our chemicals. The carpet has a large hole in the driver's footwell, the console is broken, air conditioning is blowing warm and the right window and door lock are both inoperative. The headliner is damaged and the glovebox handle/lock are broken. The power moonroof, driver's window and radio are all working.
The 2.0 4 cylinder engine does start up easily and the car runs and drives. Transmission seems to shift normally. The check engine light is illuminated.
All four tires are matching Michelin radials worn to 5/32" to 8/32" treadwear. They are mounted on the factory alloy rims which are missing center caps and some lugs.
We did send this Beetle through our shop for a basic safety check where the above mentioned issues were found by our tech. In addition he also found; the air bag light is illuminated, rear brakes are worn, fog lamp wiring is hanging down under front bumper, exhaust was broken, there are bulbs burned out and the wiper blades are worn. We did repair the exhaust problem because the car was too noisy to drive. No other repairs were performed, but we did change the oil/filter.
Lets be realistic with this one folks...It is not a beauty. Bid what you want to pay and perhaps you can drive it home. We will let the auction run full term, please do not send us "offers", they will not receive a response.
