Vehicle Detail

UP FOR AUCTION is a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback 289 Auto VIN # 8F01C141390 The VIN # decodes as follows: 8 (1968 model year) F (built at the Dearborn assembly plant) 01 (coupe body syle) C (289-2V engine) 141390 (indicates the 141,390th vehicle off the assembly line) • The car comes as shown in the pictures. No engine or transmission. The stock 8” rear end and suspension is complete. All wiring is still in the car. The factory Ford AC/heater box is complete. The steering column and steering box and all front power steering is complete. The brake system is complete including emergency brake. The doors are complete with the original Carlite fastback glass. The rear window is original carlite. The windshield is not original carlite. The front suspension and front drum style brakes are complete. The tires are 14” BF Goodrich radial TA and have very little wear. The wheels are 14” painted magnums. The aprons, dash tag and door tag are all stamped with the correct matching VIN #. Overall the car is pretty solid for a Northeast car. The front floor pan area needs replacing. I was going to install a new 1-piece floor pan and eliminate the problem 100% The trunk floors and trunk lid are very solid. The front frame rails are real solid with some rust in a small area right at the front where the bumper bracket bolts. The shock towers are solid with no visible rust. The cowl area is solid. I have included a ton of pictures that will answer 95% of the questions you may have. One question I will answer is that the car has been clipped using a coupe nose. This was done many years ago. It was done at the windshield posts and across the floor pan behind the front seat stands. Most people will never notice this but I believe in 100% disclosure so there are no surprises for the buyer. The car has great lines and the windshield and original trim fit perfect. I restore Mustangs for a living and have no issues with the repair. Once the floor pan was replaced this repair would be invisible. Overall the car is solid and would make a great Shelby clone or restomod. The pictures will better illustrate the overall condition of the car. • I invite your questions or you may e-mail to make an appointment to personally view and inspect the car. This car is located in Southeastern Massachusetts. This car is sold with clean title and a bill of sale. PLEASE e-mail with any questions you may have.
