1960 GMC model 1000 pickup truck. Longbed stepside (not as common as shortbed). I bought this partially restored and finished it. New interior, very nice. I added lapbelts to make it legal. New wheel cylinders, brake hardware, shoes. All fluids (trans,rear, oil,coolant etc.) changed. 4 speed manual trans (granny 1st). Manual steering.New weatherstripping on doors. Glass all good.New headlights, halogen style, new wires. New heavier altenator-replacing original generator. Body all good with one minor exception (listed below). No frame rot. Bed wood fair to okay. Not perfect, but good. New stainless tailgate chains.New ignition wires, plugs, newer battery.Fuel tank was removed, cleaned,painted and reinstalled. Runs and drives well. Known issues that I haven't gotten to yet: Odometer stopped working last summer. Not sure why. Did replace cable. Mileage is just over 77k, never rolled over...not driven more than 10 miles since odometer/speedometer quit. Not original wheels, not original mirrors, not original exhaust. Tires are starting to show minor dry rot, but serviceable (like new tread). corner of hood (removable part) is starting to rust. Windshield weatherstripping is cracking (original) doesn't leak Horn button missing spring (potential buyer knocked center cap off off and lost the spring on the ground!) Clutch slave cylinder is leaking down, needs to be rebuilt-have all the parts,just haven't had time. Replacement air filter,runs better, original oil bath does come with truck. Motor is painted orange, but really should be red to be authentic. left turn indicator light on dash won't show when left turn is on. All turn signals and lights work properly, though. Inner fenders have some bondo right where they all rusted,good, just patched. New inner fenders are available for this year. Paint job was Macco, good but not show quality. Don't be intimidated by this list, just being honest-listing all known problems. I know this truck well, front to back. Prefer local pickup-will ship if you make the arrangements. Clean title in hand.
