1997 BMW 540, 4.4 liter V8, rare 6 speed manual transmission, sport package, cold weather package, Black with tan leather interior, 6 disc CD changer, optional side airbags, moonroof, dual heated seats and heated steering wheel, non smoker, hand washed regularly, 100 % factory paint and ICE cold AC. I am a member of the BMW Club of America and this car has been driven with respect and well maintained. I purchased the car in the fall of 2008 with 91,000 miles. I have put 40,000 highway miles on this car in 18 months and it has been a pleasure ! This is the perfect car for covering mileage on the interstate in comfort and style... and it will return 27 mpg cruising at 75 mph. Service/Maintanence : Full synthetic Castrol GTX oil changes done every 5000 miles, Clutch, radiator/water pump/TStat done around 85,000 miles. Recent work done : Lower control arms and 4 wheel alignment at 120k, Brakes all around at 125k, Tune up at 130k. Tires are Bridgestone Turanzo's with about 40-50 % tread left. Car runs very strong, uses no oil and has no unusual noises or issues. Clutch is tight and smooth. Minor issues : Coolant level sensor has an intermittent fault. I have a new BMW sensor that will go with the car. It is a simple install and I would recommend flushing the cooling system when it is installed. ( BMW recommends a cooling system flush every 2 years and it is due ) Pixels in instrument cluster are weak but radio and heater control pixels are good. It is a common problem and not an expensive fix. You may even be able to get BMW to "goodwill" the repair if it bothers you I don't even notice it. All accessories work correctly ( power windows, seats, sunroof, on board computer etc ) Bid with confidence ! This is a beautiful car that is very well built and a joy to drive. These cars are very fast and will surprise a lot of "muscle cars" if you choose to show them. Car has been very reliable and runs out great. Clean Illinois title in hand.
