Up for sale is our exceptional Mercedes 280S in very original condition and rare condition. We looked for a few years to find a car this nice. She runs and drives exceptionally well, with more power than you would expect, (I would say comprable to to a 450). Reason for that may be partly due to a reconditioned carburator and good manitenance history through out her life. All photos will be uploaded tomorrow evening when we can enlist the help of a family member ! We have many photos of the inside, outside, engine bay and undercarriage. We have all book original books and records including, jack and spare, tools, parts book, the maintenance service booklet, and the original Window Sticker (not a copy of it but the original one). On November 1st, 1975,60 miles from our home, she was sold for $15,719, A large sum of money those days. She still has the original radio that works, as well as the original power antenna. Other factors that make this car rare are: the 6 cylinder in the large 450 body, the fact that she is smog expempt with the 116 chassis, the exceptional cosmetic and mechanical condition, and full documentation. Reason for sale is a sever motor cycle accident that left me with 2 fractured vertebrae. She starts, idles, and runs beautifully hot or cold and does make unusual mechanical noises. Runs and drives as she should. Very powerful engine, rides straight on the freeway, no wheel bearing noises or pulling, and no play in the axles. She just had a full service, oil change, wires, cap and rotor, plugs and filter. I think she would drive anywhere as is any distance. She is available for any inspection at our home in Laguna Beach or at ANY REPUTABLE service garage of your choice within a 10 mile radius of our home. As a realistic note, please do remember that she is a 35 year old luxury car and is not perfect, also due to her age, there is no warranty of any kind available or offered or implied on this car. She is not perfect and has imperfections here and there. Some or many things, items, fittings, features, mechanically and cosmetically may be worse and many will be better than you may expect ! In line with normal ebay practices please note that all inspections are to be made prior to auction close ! winning the car does not entitle you to come and inspect her to see she is really what you want ! That should be done before you bid ! Still has the factory dual tone Mercedes Horns and a working Mercedes quadraphonic speaker fader knob on the center console.
