Vehicle Detail
This is a short wheelbase 1971 BMW R75/5 that I purchased from the original owner in 2009. It has been in storage for 6 years, so I am listing it as NOT RUNNING, however, it was working at the time it was put into storage. That said, while the bike is in decent condition, and would be a good base for a restoration, it will require some work before taking out on the road again. The odometer is not working and the original owner told me that he thought he had put "around 100,000" miles on it. At the very least, the bike will require thorough cleaning and replacement of some of the rubber parts. I would also recommend a top-end rebuild as there was a tendency for the cylinders to seep a small amount of oil from their bases. I have all the keys for the bike, and the sale includes a set of original BMW tools. This is a no reserve auction. No warranties expressed or implied , and a as-is sale. Feel free to have the motorcycle inspected if you like. All sales are final, and there are no refunds or returns, and inspections are recommended. Bike comes with a clean title. Full payment is due within 7 days after the auction has ended. I strongly encourage payment by cash at time of pickup. If payment is made by cashier's check, the check must completely clear before I will release the bike; this can take up to 2 weeks. Please ask all questions before bidding as I will be happy to answer them. Thank you and happy bidding! On Jan-29-19 at 17:07:28 PST, seller added the following information: After examining the interior of the fuel tank in more detail after a bidder asked me to do so, it does appear that the tank will need to be cleaned out and most likely re-coated. There's a fair amount of grime in there, and some of the red coating has flaked off.
