(BM)Non-original 350 4 Bolt Main with double hump heads.Non-original Muncie 4-Speed (3851325 casting 1964-65) Very Solid Undercarriage, Rear Frame Rails, and Shock Towers! Also has desirable Corvette 15 inch rally wheels! Just like any first generation Camaro this one will need full restoration. A front clip, quarters, center trunk pan section, some floor work needed, tail panel work, and trunk lid needed. It has solid rockers, rear frame rails, leaf spring mounts, shock tower mounts, roof etc. This is a very ideal true super sport project with sought after components! Complete Historical Timeline: A San Antonio Texas man purchased this 1968 Camaro Super Sport Camaro brand new in 68' from Smith Motor Sales on 1221 Broadway, San Antonio Texas 78215 (Picture below) (Smith Motor Sales no longer exists as luxury apartments are now in its place)Of all first generation Camaro's 1968 had the lowest production numbers for the Super Sport Camaro. This incredible street machine came Factory with a 350cu 8 cylinder with 295 horsepower backed up by a Muncie 3-Speed Transmission. A 12 bolt rear completed the drivetrain which still remains today with this super sport Camaro. In 1985 the second owner purchased this 1968 Super Sport Camaro. Being a college student he drove it daily to Texas A & M University. Eventually he experienced mechanical issues with the original engine and had to purchase a non original rebuilt 350 4 bolt main engine from Howard Campbell Company in San Antonio Texas. While the engine was being replaced he opted for a Muncie 4 Speed Transmission. After some time the Camaro was repainted the original matador red once. Soon after graduating from Texas A&M University he moved back to New Jersey. Once back home he had parked the Camaro for some time. During the time it sat the driver side and passenger door windows were broken and a few other things vandalized when a few people broke into the lean to barn it was stored in. Later on the previous owner had thoughts of restoring it so he pulled her out of the lean to, took the hood off, and removed the engine. He didn't get any further than that. I ended up purchasing this Super Sport Camaro to bring it back to life. Being as solid as it is I knew it wouldn't be a hard project compared to all others I've seen. Even being solid in the most important areas it still will need much of the usual Camaro metal work. Since I've purchased this Camaro I have had no time to work on it. So now I am offering someone the opportunity to own and restore a real documented Super Sport with very sought after performance parts.
