Up for bids is a 1997 Buick LeSabre. The body of this good ol' LeSabre is in good shape with limited rust. The engine has a knocking issue; a local mechanic said it sounds like the lower rod bearings are out which means the engine needs overhauled or replaced. While I was headed home from the mechanic, steam started coming out of the hood and it appears a coolant line blew near the radiator. When the engine is cool, the car runs okay but as it heats up it loses power and eventually dies. Also when I was running it after the engine started knocking, the transmission started acting strange; it would shift up okay but when I would rev the engine, the tranny would shift down and free wheel. This issue may be related to the engine issue but I'm not sure. Before the engine issue, the car ran reliably for the two years I've had it. For cosmetics, the car is in good shape externally and okay shape internally as there are some stains and broken/scratched/ripped things. Some of the issues are highlighted in the photos. The rear power windows do not work all the time. Also, the CD and cassette players do not work but the radio does. For positive things, the intake manifold gaskets were replaced two years ago, the front struts and rear shock absorbers were replaced March 2017, the water pump was replaced June 2017, and the battery was replaced January 2018. Although there are some issues with this car, it can be repaired or parted out as there are still a lot of valuable components.
