The 1980s were wild years of experimentation for Honda. They tried practically every engine combination, number of cylinders, arrangement and displacement throughout this period. The CBX was a notable example: 1000cc, six cylinders, DOHC, four valves per cylinder and six carbs made for a very memorable motorcycle. The Super-sport variant of the CBX added the sport-touring fairing, lowers and paint-matched, detachable hard luggage. This was offered in two colours: The white/blue you see here, and a darker grey/black combination. The white bikes seem to be more desirable by the slimmest of margins, and as such fare slightly better at auction. This example was bought new in Olds Alberta Canada at Trackside Honda. The original owner had previously bought a new CBX every year since 1979 putting many many miles anthem and leading the CBX Club of Canada. When the gentleman entered the dealership to buy his 1982 model he was then told that this was the last year that the iconic motorcycle was going to be offered and he began to think seriously. At that point he said I will take 2 of them !!! Well the years went buy and the bike was stored immaculately with oil fogged down cylinders and carb as well were kept perfect with no fuel and the entire bike was put inside the house under cover and tires deflated. The bike has been left to the original owners son and he had no interest in the motorcycle so I have a clear title in hand and hopefully this bike goes to a collector or a museum. Bike will not be started and has all the original little farings in each hard bag on each side as the were when in the crate and remain untouched as well as the tool kit compartments never been opened until the other day and there seems to be a tool kit and another little leather looking bag with something in it. This bike is 110% untouched and new not a nut or bolt touched on this machine. Good luck bidding this is the one chance you have to own the historic piece of Honda history !!!
