Selling a great 1974 Chevelle Malibu project car! NO RESERVE!!! It's a great car to drive around and everybody always gives it the thumbs up! Pretty cool, cheap car! I bought this car earlier this year. I have done some work to it and have driven it for the last month. These cars are getting hard to find and this one is pretty solid for 44 years old,especially up here! I don't know a whole lot of history on the car besides what the last owner told me, he paid to have all work done. Car had a motor rebuilt at some point.It is not the original motor. Numbers on the block come back to 1967-1970 327(3970010) and the heads come back to 327 heads with 194 valves(3970126). So we are thinking its a 327 from 67-70 but I can't guarantee it. I don't know what is in it but it has a lopey cam, double roller timing chain, Edelbrock Torker 2 intake and newly installed 600 Edelbrock carb, brand new distributor, along with headers and brand new dual exhaust from the headers to bumper. It runs really well and Has great oil pressure(45 at idle hot and 65-70 driving) and no noises or smoke. Previous owner said it was rebuilt with very few miles on it when he stored the car but who knows for sure? Did you notice that huge 4 core aluminum radiator??!!! The 4 speed conversion was done a few years ago. It has a Muncie M21 case with all M22 Rock Crusher internals. Also has a new clutch and new Hurst competition plus shifter.....not a cheap job for sure. Numbers on trans case are3857584GM, 3925660 and 3088336. Previous owner said that the whole conversion maybe has 20 miles on it, he put the car away right after and never went any further with it. Car has highway gears and it REALLY! needs some 373 or 410 gears to really make it a nice driver. You have to clutch it to take off because of the wide ratio M22 not being made for 256 gears in the rear. After that,it goes fine. The body is real solid for the year, Car had new quarter panels and wheel tubs installed a few years ago, the doors need some work as they have filler in them and sag when you open them and the fenders look decent but may have some filler too. There are normal dents,dings for the age and a sunroof was installed a long time ago. The trunk floor and frame are real nice. Floor boards are all nice except the drivers floor is soft where your feet go and It will need some work around the 4 speed floor hump area where the finish work isn't completed. Interior is black and somebody installed era correct swivel buckets. They work but are driver quality....They need a few bolts installed. Has tilt column with aftermarket steering wheel. After market electric dash too. Gauges all seem to work except fuel. I think its a ground as it worked when I got it. Mileage reads 00004 so it will be sold 100,004. Has American Racing wheels with half dry rotted tires and it has a factory rear sway bar that I see. Basically, The car runs and drives fine. All gears shift great and trans works like new. All lights work, it is registered,insured and inspected and could be taken to the next level or?? It will need a few mechanical things addressed before any long drives; it will need a throwout bearing as this one is dry and noisy,the front wheel bearing on the drivers side needs to be replaced as it growls while driving and the grease seal is leaking too. and the tires are dry rotted. I have never even pulled a wheel off it and I drive it locally almost every day. Interior needs a carpet,floor work as stated and it is missing a few trim pieces. No radio.
