We have a 2003 Toyota Highlander Limited White that needs a new home. It also needs a new motor says the mechanic. It has 217,xxx plus miles but was running very well with no rust or rattles to speak of. We just put in a $400 radiator after it sprung a leak and the mechanic and we didn't realize the oil pump was out also. Drove it from a few miles in Castleton from 82nd Street up to 116 St and back and it broke down at Lawrence North High School. Its at the mechanic's shop near I-69 and East 82nd Street. We've called around and have offers from scrap and salvage yards, listed in on Facebook Marketplace, Nextdoor.com and Criagslist ans the response was overwhelming. It has been such a good vehicle we're hoping someone can get some more life from it somehow rather than just for scrap for parts. It has 4 new tires from Costco (Michelin I believe, but could be Bridgestones) put on last Summer. A/C, radio (Cassette/CD), everything worked. A shame to send to the junkyard we think.
