Selling my trusty 1980 Mercedes 300D . I just bought a new car , so 'ol Gertrude has to go.She has been absolutely reliable in the 2 years that I have owned her. I've driven her up and down the coast with no problems.I've had a few Benz diesels over the years , and this is one of the most solid feeling (suspension-wise) and quiet , smooth running engines I've had. It's a good one.Approximately 267,000 miles ( I believe them to be original)Runs , drives , starts , stops , all lights , horn and signals work as they should.San Francisco to Los Angeles on 1 tank of fuel.Interior is in great shape with no rips or tears in any seatsAll power windows and sunroof work perfectly.Smog exemptRegistered until: April 2019tires are about 50% tread leftHas a jack and a good spare ( on another factory Mag wheel)The only small issues are:1 small dent on the front driver side quarter . Not too bad at all (check the pics)The climate control system could use some attention ...honestly , I never even bothered.There are one or 2 small vacuum leaks , that , as a vintage Mercedes owner , you will either :1. get used to themor 2. track them down and plug them.1 piece of molding fell off (see in pic) ... it's in the car3. The Car needs a new vacumm transmission cable (about $200. installed) . The car runs and drives fine without it , but shifting will be "smoother" once this is repaired. That being said ....she's been my daily driver for 2 years just as is.These issues have never stopped the car from being an absolutely reliable daily driver. These cars go forever.I don't have parking for 2 cars ...so , this baby has gotta go!
