Listing again as the purchaser the first time around could not obtain funding to purchase. Please have all financing handled prior to bidding. For sale "again" is my 1960 Corvette with factory convertable & removable hard top that fires right up after all these years. Originally equipped in Satin Silver exterior paint with white coves and a black bucket seat interior. One of 57 Satin Silver Corvettes in 1960 and one of 11 with removable hard top. The Vette was originally purchased in California and brought to Pittsburgh, PA in the late 60's. A young man acquired the Vette in 72 from the original family and used it as daily transportation for 2 years following his return from Vietnam. Over the years there wasn't ever enough time to enjoy the car so he sold it to his brother in 1980 as he owed him some money at the time. Included with the car was NOS GM parts to rebuild the entire car as his brother worked in a parts department of a local GM Garage. Everything from a 283 engine rebuild kit to all NOS trim/badges/cables/weatherstrip/filters that was purchased at the local GM dealer. The new owner quickly got started by having the chassis sand blasted and painted gloss black in 1981, all the suspension was rebuilt with GM parts (bushings, shocks, tie rod ends, steering box, pitman and idler arm, coil springs, leaf springs, etc) The 283-4 engine was rebuilt with new pistons, rings, bearings, factory solid lifter camshaft/lifters, timing chain & gaskets following a .020 overbore of the cylinders. The calendar heads were refurbished with hardened valve seats, guides and valve job. New water pump, thermostat, engine mounts, fuel pump and factory carb rebuild were also completed/replaced at the time. I was told by the previous owner the original 283 engine remains intact. The original valve covers and air filter remain with the car. The original transmission was overhauled locally in addition to the factory differential. It was resealed at the same time by a local transmission shop. Brakes were relined with GM over the counter shoes, resurfaced drums, wheel calendars, E-brake cables and adjuster and hardware. An NOS exhaust system (which still resides some of it's original tags and tape) was installed as well less the tail pipes which are Walker replacements. Once completed the body was installed using all new hardware and body mounts that was next on the list. The body was stripped and that's as far as the old 60 Vette ever got to being completed. Life got away from him and interest in the old Chevrolet dwindled as it sat in the corner covered in blankets. The car sat in that exactly location for 37 years on jack stands and even includes it's original jack, jack crank and lug wrench. E-brake cables were replaced and are free and working. Convertible top is in good working order, black top is folded nicely and appears in good condition. This particular Corvette retains it's original Manual windows & top. A binder of documentation and service manuals are included with the car, many of the receipts from the 1979-1982 timeline. The frame was sand blasted and painted in 1981 and still retains it's new finish. No patches were completed to the frame and remains in operable and usable condition. Just needs a good wash from the years in storage. All the paint on the chassis and suspension parts is in great condition. The shocks have some flaking paint as I don't believe they were repainted when they were replaced. Included with this running Corvette is the following: All NOS from Chevrolet in GM boxes/wrappers unless where noted! All emblems front to back including the big round front and trunk emblems, 3 flags & other for "Fuel Injection" and 63 Flags (he must have bought what he could get at the time), grille w/ shark teeth, grille surround upper and lower, side grille surrounds all 4 pieces, stainless backing of outer surrounds, stainless and chrome trim for coves, several used sets of upper fender trim, molding clips new in GM box), headlight buckets with bulbs and harnesses, 6 chrome trim pieces/slats for inside side coves, door handles, lock/key set, weather strip, door handles, shifter bezel w/ boot, console door, bumper brackets, 4 splash shields, transmission harness, hood latch cable w/ handle, interior door knobs in chrome, rear tail light reflectors, 4 door panel reflectors with chrome trim ring, carpet, door panels, door panel stainless inserts (2 sheets), side cove stainless inserts, front marker lights, rear end canvas straps, body gasket kit, washer bottle, brake line kit, drivers mirror, window cranks, 5 hubcaps (nice originals), filters, ashtrays, convertible top latches and stainless trim, plus other items like an extra original fiberglass trunk lid. Bumpers and plate brackets are included and will need to be re-chromed but in good shape. A replacement rear window for the removable hard top is also included. The original gas tank and straps is also included and in great condition. I don't specialize in Corvettes but I would say just about everything is here in order to complete the assembly on this Corvette except a radio. A newer battery is also included in addition to all the hardware removed during deconstruction. Also included is an extra '61 T10 4 speed, shifter with linkage, bell housing, exhaust manifolds, pulley set, 4 barrel intake manifold, 2 extra rear center sections; water pump housing, distributor, all from a Corvette. The body has no stress cracks upon my inspection and the original bonding strips reside within the front fenders. The previous owner told me he heard rumors of the front fenders paint cracking due to flexing (which he wanted to avoid) so while the body was off the chassis he reinforced this area with additional fiberglass on the back side. The removable hard top is in excellent condition and I have not removed it since I've owned the Vette. The factory wheels are currently on the car wearing early 70's (w/ good tread) bias ply tires. The interior is original and the dash has never been removed from the car. NOS GM black seat covers were installed in 81 and remain in new condition. NOS GM black door panels are also included with the car in addition to black carpet. Floor pans and door jambs are in new condition. Factory tachometer works, oil pressure and temp gauges operate as expected & factory steering wheel resides. Inside is untouched from original. I'm looking to sell everything at one time. Car is for sale locally so auction can be cancelled at any time. I'm willing to work with the buyer on transportation or even shipping to the Port for over seas buyers. Corvette is sold in as is condition with no warranty; it's 59 years old now. If you text me or call me I can send some video to you of the car idling in my garage. I also have about 80 pictures I can share or can take others if desired. Car is located in Pittsburgh, PA I'm also willing to make accommodations to have the vehicle and parts inspected if you desire. I originally had intentions of getting the Corvette painted and assembled but another project has surfaced that I'd sooner purchase and complete, one that I've been waiting on for over 20 years. Title in hand. Bill 724-612-5315 Lets make a deal! No trades! The underside will not need to be touched when getting this vehicle up and running. A paint job, some chrome work on bumpers and assembly. What a cool find.
