Vehicle Detail

1986 Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Spider. Adult owned, well maintained, low mileage example. Listing for my father who is not internet savvy. He is selling this car to reduce his sports car fleet. Having owned and maintained this fine example for the past five years, and obtained it from another long term owner who also insured it was garage kept and well maintained, it is now offered for you to have an opportunity to be the next caretaker of this fine example. Very few can be found in this condition. Alfa is again available in the US but without a dedicated convertible. So, here's your chance at a Classic Alfa Spider Powered by the beautiful sounding classic DOHC Alfa engine in the largest 2L formulation, 5 speed all synchromesh manual transmission, 4 wheel disc brakes and aided by the Series 3 Spider front and rear spoilers and now with Quadrifoglio luxuries such as power windows and leather seats. This car is a great cruiser with that classic engine note and enjoyed by many for that sharp handling around the twisties. Maintenance has been performed regularly on this classic Alfa along with attending to occasional needs, such as rebuilding driver seat tracks for ease of use and most recently replacing rear U-joints, and lubing speedo cable. Only major work performed was valve job and adjustment with quality head gasket, now giving solid revving performance. Looks, runs, shifts, brakes and handles well. Paint seems to be original and shines up well if washed and waxed but is not Concourse due to age. Engine is clean and free of defect but has minor oil leaks as any 30 year old Italian without recent gasket set. Shifts clean through all gears, can get slight graunch in second if speed shifted but not apparent in regular driving. Top is not new but looks good, is functional, free of tears and with clear plastic rear window. Leather seats are more supportive than earlier Spiders and free of tears and not dried out. Door cards good, only very slight fade in red carpet in couple areas. Dash is straight and clean with only slight crack between vents and windshield. Lights and gauges all seem to work. CD radio sounds good with adequate speakers (rare on these). Original option phone dial mags all present and in good condition, including spare. Tires also correct and with plenty of tread. Toolkit in trunk. No books come with this vehicle due to being misplaced but records of most major work included. All stock and original except aftermarket wood Dino steering wheel and shift knob. You should be able to just buy this Italian convertible and enjoy it. Or attend to minor things if you want to use it for shows Items that could use attention if desired:AC is disconnected, would need belt and recharge if you wanted it, but never attended to since its a convertible.Trip meter portion does not work but odometer and speedo work fine. Stain in trunk carpet and driver door seal could be replaced. Enjoy this classic Italian roadster this summer. Happy bidding. Fine print: Your bid is a binding contract, please treat it as such. Reserve will be revealed when you bid up to it. So bid to own it. No warranty is expressed or implied. Car is sold as-is, where-is.
