Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This 1948 Jeep CJ-2A features a the Hurricane 4 cylinder engine, 3 speed transmission with rare overdrive, heater and has been adult owned. It runs well and has been extremely well cared for. This CJ has been over- maintained and is in outstanding condition. The interior is beautiful, the exterior is 99.9% rust free, the wheels are in superb shape, it has nearly new reproduction Firestone tires, and has a soft top that is also included (see photos) In addition, the Jeep had a frame off restoration years ago but has been driven. Anything that ever went wrong with this jeep was fixed right, including regular oil and fluid changes. Everything we tested works including the horn. Given the condition of the interior, engine, transmission and body, it is hard to find anything cleaner than this. We were impressed with how well the engine starts, runs and idles and how well it shifts and drives. The brakes are typical early CJ and are manual drum. The paint is outstanding and we believe the original color combination. There are minor marks, chips and touch ups on the body but it is the nicest we have seen over the years. Note that it is not mint or Barrett Jackson quality. It it, however, a nice honest CJ-2A in outstanding shape for the age. If you are looking for a new car, no squeaks or rattles, or the reliability of a Toyota Camry, this car is not for you. If you like a bit of patina, understand what you are buying and that this is for parades and trails and are a Jeep enthusiast like us, this vehicle deserves a closer look. We are also including some stencils and a few extra parts. They are a rough riding toy, with marginal brakes by today's standards, and no protection other than the roll bar and lap seat belts. They also roll fairly easy if you don't know their limitations. We ask that bidders know what they are buying.
