After extensive research on this topic I found that this IMS/RMS issue only happened to about 3 to 5% of all the cars made from those years. Also it happens below 50,000 miles. So I came to the conclusion that a car with 114,000 miles and running well already had the retrofit or it's not going to happen. So I have no problems buying a well cared for 911/996 that has over 100,000 miles. I'm selling this one and I'm already looking for my next one with Tiptronic for the wife. Those issues happened many many years ago and many many miles ago. I no longer worry about a problem that happened about 15 years ago to 5% of the cars. These models 911/996 are the ABSOLUTE BEST DEAL IN THE WORLD. So much quality and fun for such little money!!!
