If you are looking for classic a BMW R60, you probably don't need to be sold on the virtues and durability of these well-engineered bikes. The flat, horizontally opposed twin cylinders of BMW's Boxer engine have been a proven reliable power source for close to a century. This bike will need a little work (some paint and electrical), but the motor is in great condition. An electronic ignition system has been added, which improves efficiency and eliminates the tedious routine maintenance of the stock points. The motor was dual-plugged back in the '70s (I bought the bike from the original owner). Dual-plugging was common in the '70s due to the low-quality gasoline available in the USA, but it continues to have advantages with more fuel-efficient operation, easier cold starts, and reduced spot-heating in the cylinders. And ultimately the engine will last longer. When you buy this bike, you will also get a pair of vintage Craven panniers with L-rack. While you can't buy this particular vintage anymore, a close replacement would cost roughly $550 new.
