This 1974 Westfalia is a fine example of a cosmetically beautiful, mechanically solid, functionally excellent east coast survivor with west coast roots. This bus comes with service records and repair receipts from the first dozen dealer stamps in the original owners manual to engine rebuild to upholstery upgrades. These detailed records shows the bus making her first home in San Diego and travelling through CA, WA, AZ, TX, FL and finally making her way to PA in the late 90"s. Mechanically this bus is Sound! Runs great, travels smoothly and stops nicely. All 5 tires are in great condition with both rear being brand new. Horn, turn signals, flashers, wipers, lights, gauges all work excellent. Turn signals don't self-cancel after turning. Interior lighting works well with an overhead light at the driver's seats and a flourecent lamp in the cabin. Strereo is an older Alpine with door speakers. Additional mechanical parts will be included, roll of new carpeting, The canvas top does have a tear on the right side below the screen window that I have taped. The bus is equipped with an open engine compartment to the left of the engine for an additional battery. Additional battery could be added for camping, if wanted. The undercarriage is very solid with very little to no rust evident. the frame has black undercoating which is peeling off in places with solid metal underneath. The body is 90% rust free with only 1 or 2 spots behind the rear bumper that are beginning to push the paint. The floor boards, wheel wells and roof/rain gutters are all solid. All the main widows and doors have new seals. A roll of seal for the vent windows is also included. Do not assume this bus is perfect, there are minor imperfections and blemishes, it's all history. Considering this machine has been functioning for the last 44 years, it continues to perform and entertain all the while demonstrating true German engineering. You will not be disappointed with this bus! I have owned this camper for 5 years, in this time I have taken numerous camping trips along with making sure all the necessary functions perform as they should. Sink and stove are working properly. the faucet functions via a small electric pump mounted below the water tank. Propane tank has been serviced and inspected by the local fuel company. The fridge works as well as it should with the ability to operate from either 12vdc or 120vac.There is an electric hookup for remote 120vac with circuit protection and outlets inside the bus. The rear bench seat contains storage area under the cushion and folds down to sleep two adults and small children and pets. The fold down table extends out when upright and an extra stool provides additional seating. There is also a dry storage bin/stool, with seat cushion, that sits between the driver and passenger seats(not pictured). The bunk in the popup also will sleep two adults comfortably and is quite pleasant with the 3 screened windows zippered open. There is also additional storage at the rear of the main sleeping cabin and below the sink. The spare tire has been located to the front of the bus to provide even more storage under the sink water tank. As you can see, the cot will sleep two small children, pets or provide additional storage area when parked. It is true, the Westfalia Campmobile is a swiss army knife on wheels.
