1986 Jaguar Vanden Plas - NO RESERVE This Jaguar is an original Orange County, California car. Finished in cranberry metallic with parchment Doeskin leather. In 1986 Jaguar referred to the Vanden Plas as the most exclusive Jaguar available. This one even had the dealer installed Dayton wire wheels installed. The car spent several years in Orange County and then sold to a couple in the Bay Area of whom owned the car for the next 10 years. It was then sent to the Barrett Jackson classic car auction and sold to the third owner for $15,000 in 2004. It was this mans dream to own a Jaguar and he stored the car for the next 10 years in his warehouse with his other classic cars in central California. Alway maintained and kept detailed. He passed and I purchase the car from his son in 2015. Always a California car, but now it has returned to Orange County. Still sporting its Bauer Jaguar license plate frame and still holding its original owners manual, demo tape and cassette deck cleaner case from Jaguar. There was a quality repaint at one point and this car has zero rust! NONE! The interior is in remarkable shape. The leather is soft and supple with that intoxicating vintage smell of the English leather. The driver side seat bolster does show light patina and there are some cracks in the wood on the center console. I won't touch it as I prefer to keep it as original as possible. The air conditioning blows cold and heat blows hot. All electroincs work as they should. There has been many many thousands of dollars spent maintaining this Jaguar and you can drive it with confidence anywhere. I have made a few trips to Palm Springs in this car. It runs strong and it is driven regularly. This car truly has that distinctive Jaguar purr! The car also has new tires and brakes. And this is for the Buyers that are as fussy as me.... this car is not perfect. It is a delicate piece of English machinery. It is a very nice example and hard pressed to find one nicer, there just aren't many left. Please know you will find flaws.
