Vehicle Detail
This is an awesome 1976 Cheverolet G10 van that couldn't be anymore 70's! This van is in great shape for a 76! This van is a 2 owner that was purchased by the second owner locally in 1979. Since this is a lifetime Southern East Tennessee van it is 100% rust free! We have also inspected it very close and have found no signs of collision damage. This van was taken off the road for restoration in 1996 and never made it back to the road until the past week. The 292 inline 6 cylinder started right up with a battery and some ether, we then cleaned the tank and filled it with fuel and it runs very well with no misfires, no smoke, no oil or coolant leaks and is very quiet. The 3 speed transmission with column shifter shifts well and is nice and quiet through all of the gears but the column shifter will need a little work. The clutch feels good and the brake pedal is firm but the van does pull hard to the right under braking. The tires do have signs of dry cracking between the tread but not in the sidewalls. There are no mufflers so it is loud! All electrical lighting and wipers work as they should but there is no instrument cluster operation at all. We have only driven the van about 5 miles but it has plenty of proper power and is very close to being a reliable driver. The van was completely color changed except for the engine compartment. The original color was red and was resprayed in the midnight metallic Blue you see here. The paint job is pretty nice considering it is 22 years old but then again it has been garage stored since 1996 and has not seen the elements. I would consider it a 8.5 out of 10 for quality. There are some light scratches from garage storage over the years and will need some light touch up. All lights, trim, door and window seals were removed for paint. The side windows and sunroofs were left in the vehicle so they have the only slightly noticeable tape marks. All new GM door seals were used on the rear doors and sliding door and we have the new front door seals new in the GM box's to be installed. All new lights and light seals were used on exterior lighting and appear to be OE GM parts as well. Bumpers are really nice with very nice chrome. The front doors do not have any window channel seals. At the end of the day this van will take very little work to be a reliable driver but should be considered a derivable project at this point. This van is being sold as is! The interior is an open canvas and the options are endless. The hard work has been done to this van and the fun part is ready to be started for someone to make this awesome van their own! This is a NO RESERVE auction and this van will sell. We have a clear Tennessee title. We are listing this vehicle locally and we reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time. Shipping is not a problem. We can ship vehicles for 75 to 90 cents per mile to most places and would be happy to help out. Happy bidding and good luck! Please see mfauto.com for more pictures.
