Vehicle Detail

The car is in good condition. The engine runs very strong and the turbos are functioning perfectly. With the manual transmission, the acceleration is quite strong through the gears. The A/C blows cold, the clutch engages normally with no slip. Dunlop tires have approx. 60% tread life left. There is some wear on the driver's seat bolster. Otherwise the interior condition is exellent. Center dash screen has some pixels that are out, very typical of this era of Audi. The car has not been driven in the winter months, but stored indoors. Please note: The CEL (check engine light) is illuminated and has been for the last three years. My local independent Audi mechanic has identified the code (P0431) which indicates a bad left catalytic converter. Audi engines of this era are notorious for throwing this code even though the converter is working perfectly. There is no rattle and no smoke emits from the exhaust. As you will notice in the accompanying photos, I have one shot of the inspection sticker, brand new which is valid from April 30th of this year to April 30th, 2019. My mechanic can easily bypass the code and pass the NYS inspection. Since this is possible to do, I felt it made no sense to replace a perfectly good converter, especially on an 18 year old car. There is only one key and the remote is disabled. Recent maintenance included the NYS inspection, oil change and replacement of the heater hoses. My son used this car but is now living abroad and we have no need to keep it. The car is very quick and fun to drive. It is generously priced and will give an Audi enthusiast a lot of driving performance pleasure. I believe I have disclosed all issues with this car. I am treating any potential buyer exactly as I would hope to be treated. Please note my feedback. Detailed maintenance records will be included in the sale. It has been well cared for over the years as those receipts show. Please call / text Bob with any questions or to make an appointment to see / drive the car. 585 317-4490
