Vehicle Detail

Ladies and Gentleman, the time has come to finally part with what could be one of the greatest vehicles that my family has ever owned. Our beloved 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. This vehicle has served our family well since July of 2004. We have taken her on trips from the Outer Banks to Cape Cod, from the Jersey Shore to Grand Rapids and many, many stops in between. It can haul 7 people, or sheets of 4 x 8 plywood or drywall and just about anything else! It has had a wonderfully documented service history, and has been a great vehicle for our family. It will be missed, but our kids have grown, and we want another family to enjoy all she has to offer. Let's look over some of the great features of this vehicle. Standard options include the Stow & Go seats which is fantastic for hauling stuff. Also the van has front and rear heat and air conditioning. Power windows, locks, steering, brakes are standard. Airbags in front, driver knee and side curtains. Power sliding doors and hatch, all though the driver power slider & power lock doesn't function any longer. AM/FM cassette and CD player all still work. Has Homelink system. It has 2 rear screens and a DVD player with headphones for those long trips to keep the kids quiet! It has a factory tow hitch, which is great for bike racks and small trailers. We have towed a small kayak trailer with it. I also have a set of snow tires on factory aluminum wheels that go with the van. It has the larger 3.8 liter engine, which runs fantastic, and a 4 speed automatic transmission. Now let us look over the service history. Since the vehicle was purchased new, it has been service originally by the dealer for warranty work, and by a master tech with 28 years experience, hence the reason this vehicle is still running well. Since its third oil change it has had nothing but synthetic oil. The transmission has been serviced approximately every 30,000 miles. In the past year it has had the following: 4 synthetic oil and filter changes, transmission flush, brake fluid flush, rear brake pads, front sway bar links, 4 tires ( less than 7000 miles on them), alignment, alternator and battery, front brake pads & rotors, front transmission mount, a main power window switch, flushed the heater core and wiper blades. The PA state inspection & emissions stickers expire this coming May. The check engine light is not on. I would not hesitate to drive this van anywhere. Of course on a van this old, and with the mileage, 222,555 and counting, it's going to have some issues. Rust has become a issue on the rocker panels and the driver sliding door. The floors are fine. The engine and transmission both have some small oil leaks, nothing crazy. Keep eye on fluids, I usually check every two weeks. The engine does use about 2 quarts of oil in between every oil change or 5000 miles. The driver sliding door doesn't open any longer when hitting the buttons, it will open manually. The passenger sliding door will open sometimes with the switch, sometimes it won't. The front end is a little noisy, the struts have been replaced twice, the last time in December of 2015, and they are beginning to make some noise again. My wife has told me sometimes when filling the fuel tank all the way, it will stall, then restart. I think she may of topped it off, but there is known issues with a valve in fuel tank that can cause this too. As long as you don't fill it up all the way, it is fine. The tire pressure monitor light is always on, the sensor batteries have died, and to be honest, the sensors are just too expensive to change, so i just check the tire pressure every month, old school! Batteries in the snow tires are dead too. Drivers side courtesy light is out, needs a bulb. The middle passenger right cup holder is broken, and there is some tape holding the weather strip down on the roof at the driver door. Do not let any of the above scare you, like I said, I would drive this van anywhere without a hesitation. I can bet you won't find another van of this era that has been taken care of mechanically for sale in the area. WINNING BIDDER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PICKUP OF VEHICLE. I CANNOT ARRANGE ANY SHIPPING.
